I have an autoimmune disorder that covers over half my body with a rash and it always starts on my scalp when it flares up.The boar's hair is gentle and doesn't hurt like the other brushes I have tried. I enjoy brushing my hair again.No, the comb isn't wood but the ad actually says that it's plastic, which doesn't bother me. But I do like the thickness of this comb more than the half-dozen of these plastic pointed combs I just threw away. Every other comb is so thin, it is like they're trying to see how little plastic it takes to make one to increase the profit margin.I definitely would recommend this set to anyone looking for a really nice brush set that is gentle and good quality.

Brush and comb easy to clean. Would have preferred a little more strength in brush bristles for smoothing. Overall works well. Bought 2 sets for me and my daughter.

I ordered and only received a brush I had to file a return claim of which they told me to keep the brush and they sent me the brush comb kit and the brush is the wood andthe comb was plastic not bamboo/wood.Note:I ordered this kit because it said wooden comb for the purpose of eco-friendly.

Very high quality brush . It’s nice and soft yet still removes tangles . I purchased this brush because I am growing my hair out and I was told a boar bristle brush is best for the hair.

I tried finding a comb and brush that weren't made from plastic because my hair gets super static-y when brushed (1a hair). I was sad to see that the combe wasn't actually wood, but still excited about the brush.The brush is soft, but not boar bristle. If it is, then it has more plastic bristles than boar bristles, and made my hair more staticly charged. I think this is a little on me for not reading more carefully, but I'm still sad it wasn't what I was hoping for :/

The lighter colored wood handle is different from the dark wood brush. I prefer the light colored brush as it has a firmer brush bristles. A great massage for your scalp. The dark wooden handle is good too but the massage is a gentle feel. I kept both for the price.
