Because of the lack of reviews I was a little bit hesitant, but it worked perfectly, it has strong magnets so the iPad will not move, the keyboard is great, all shortcuts work perfectly, it looks really good, and it feels amazing, it fits really good, despite it having a camera cutout for an iPad Pro it fits perfectly my iPad Air

Stopped working after 6 months

I originally got a Smart Folio keyboard case for my iPad Air directly from Apple in 2021. That case was great and everything I needed it to be. What I like about the Smart Folio style is that you can fold the keyboard all the way back so you can hold the iPad in portrait when you want to. After three years of very heavy use, it died and I replaced it with this Smart Folio, which appears to be the updated version of my original Smart Folio, excluding the Apple branding.This Smart Folio is the same style, which I like. The original one charged directly from the iPad; this one has a battery, but that's neither here nor there for me.The problem is that the keyboard is very unreliable. The space bar doesn't work about a third of the time, forcing me to back space to add spaces between words. Similarly, the "N" and "E" keys often fail, causing significant typos. I returned this item once for these issues and promptly received another one with the same issues. Clearly, this is a manufacturing defect. I am keeping the keyboard since it is still the style that I prefer, but it makes me very unhappy. I am a regular road warrior and my iPad is my primary work device, so this is a significant pain for me. Whenever I find a sturdy keyboard folio in the same style by another manufacturer, I will be replacing it.UPDATE: I returned this keyboard case and had it replaced. The new one has the exact same problems. I have tried to live with it, hoping the keys just needed to be exercised, but it has not gotten any better. I will be throwing it out and buying a Logitech. This one is out of its return window, so I will have to take the loss. I am EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTED. Downgrading from 3 stars to 1 star.Manufacturer, if you're paying attention, a refund would be lovely. This is a terrible piece of tech.UPDATE NO. 2: After I updated my review, the seller contacted me and offered me a full refund. They say they are going to investigate to see if they have an issue with the manufacturing. I appreciate their good customer service and am upgrading this review from one star to three stars.

I took a chance on this keyboard without any reviews and so glad I did. It works very well and the connection is great. I used it for over a month now before writing this review to make sure there were no issues. I bought a different one and returned it a week later due to the poor connectivity. This one is perfect. The only thing is I requested a black one and they sent a grey one but it’s still nice.

The keyboard is solid, with plenty of function keys (screenshot, revert to Home Screen). Fits iPad Pro 11” fine, a bit of overhang of the cover that added some protection. Very pleased.

This case worked with the original battery for no more than 3 months. I bought a new one and the same thing happened to that one. Maybe it could have just have been mine but this was an error that was extremely annoying bc it kept on disconnecting and connecting every few seconds as I used it. I never followed up on it because it is a third party seller and I couldn’t find the email or company number but I did want my money back or to get a new case if it would work. It was a light and easy case and I wish it worked out.

Sadly, as of 3-29-25. I must amend my review as I toss this case/keyboard into the recycling bin. The poor magnet adhesion is intolerable. I was in the car, with husband driving, and editing a document as we made our way north on I-95. With the slightest small bump, the magnet let loose and my ipad flattened out or, in some cases, just flew off and down to my feet. Starting over to find a no-touch-pad keyboard that will actually stay in place.
