Solid speaker all-around.
Solid speaker, loud, clear, small. Background: I have owned a lot of computer speakers and speakers of all sizes and I work as in audio. I'm not a complete expert, but I do have a ton of experience in all things sound. For a speaker that can fit in your pocket, this thing is really good. I bought it for a vacation, so we could play music in our cabin, and it delivered well beyond my expectations. It was plenty loud, with more room to go. There is a major difference from listening to things straight from a laptop, tablet, or phone with little effort and it sounds pretty close to a real speaker setup.Battery: The battery lasted just around 8 hours of nearly continuous play. A nice feature: it shuts down after awhile if it does not detect a signal from your device. Great for saving battery and not forgetting to turn it off.Build Quality: Very durable, it seems. It has a rubber shell. I would say you could drop this off a roof and it would survive. A nice option for camping, vacations, bonfires, rugged activities where it may take some abuse, but also where a power supply doesn't come easy and you need portability. The blue color with grey and orange accents is really nice.Sound Quality: I found the sound to be clear, with plenty of volume. There are speakers that project nicely, without being "loud" - I would not put this into that category, but those speakers cost at least 4x the price. There were times where it seemed to be getting too loud for everyone. But, for the price, that is nothing to complain about. There is a lot of bass, but not a crazy amount (which a lot of brands think more bass means good). It has a pretty even EQ; you can hear everything well. Since it is portable, just move it around the room and find the best spot where it can be heard, but won't be in everyone's face, isn't bouncing off reflections like hard surfaces, and it will sound awesome.Value: Well worth the money. I will be using this a lot, i can already tell. JBL is a very experienced brand in this department. I have heard other bluetooth speakers. Although I haven't A/B compared anything else, this one sounds just as good as anything else out there I can remember, including the more expensive JBL tube.

Incredible Sound in a Compact Package!
I’ve been using my JBL portable Bluetooth speaker for a month now, and I couldn’t be happier. The sound quality is crisp, clear, and surprisingly powerful for its size. The bass is deep without being overwhelming, and it doesn’t distort even at high volumes.Pairing with my phone was instant, and the Bluetooth connection is super stable—I can walk across the room without any dropouts. The battery life is excellent (easily 10–12 hours on a single charge), and I love that it’s waterproof, making it perfect for beach days, showers, or camping. The build is solid and durable, and the sleek design fits in anywhere—from my kitchen to my backpack. It’s lightweight, charges quickly, and the buttons are easy to use even in low light.Overall, this is hands down one of the best portable speakers I’ve owned. If you're looking for quality, portability, and reliability, JBL nails it.

Incredible little system
I was definitely skeptical. I had read that you needed to operate it out of its own App, that it wasn’t really that loud and that it rattled. None of the above were true. It packs a mean bass for its size, connects through standard Bluetooth and it’s easy to carry anywhere. I purchased the camo version for camping. The battery life lasts around 4-6 hours; depending on your volume preference. Very durable and easy to use. The price is unbeatable for what you get. Having said all of this, don’t expect to tear walls down with the output on this guy. It puts out the right crisp volume and operates very well within a campfire vicinity. Recommended.

Small But Mighty - Perfect for Shower & Travel
I bought the JBL Go 4 in March 2025 on Amazon, mainly for use in the shower, and I’ve been seriously impressed. For such a small, ultra-portable speaker, it delivers amazing sound quality with surprisingly punchy bass. It gets plenty loud, although you may notice a bit of distortion at the highest volume levels - nothing unexpected for a speaker of this size.Bluetooth connection is solid, and the range has been more than sufficient whether I’m using it in the bathroom or outside. The battery life has been excellent - I haven’t tested the full 7-hour limit since I usually top it off before then, but it’s never come close to dying on me. Charging is fairly quick, depending on the charger you’re using.I’ve also taken it with me on a camping trip, and it proved to be rugged enough to handle outdoor use. It held up great in wet and dusty conditions, and has handled regular use in the shower without any issues. So I’d say the waterproofing holds up well based on my experience. The build quality feels premium with a grippy rubberized housing that’s easy to hold, and the compact size makes it perfect to toss in a bag or hang on a hook. I didn’t buy it for the recycled materials, but it’s a nice bonus to know it’s made with sustainability in mind.I’m giving the Go 4 a solid 5 stars because it truly delivers on sound, durability, and portability for the price. I’d recommend it to anyone looking for a dependable shower speaker or something to use on a camping trip where you want clear sound without being disruptive to others nearby. It just works.
