Really good, can recommend. With the proviso that the default strap is very hard to get on.
Arrived today, first impressions after setting it up and testing. The device has a SIM card pre installed with a unique id and password written on a leaflet in the box. Go to the link on the leaflet and enter the id/pass to set it up. You'll need to provide a credit or debit card and pay a subscription. It's not difficult but some older people may need help. On this same website you can add multiple family members to be the alarm recipients in an order of priority. When the wearer holds the alarm button for a few seconds the device calls the first alarm recipient, if they do not pick up it then moves on to the next one and so on. When an alarm recipient picks up they can talk to the wearer through a speaker in the device. The volume is reasonable but not super loud, my mum has moderate hearing loss and could hear it without hearing aids. As far as I'm can you cannot go the other way and use the app to call the device or otherwise send messages to it. Additionally all people set up as alarm recipients can download an android or iPhone app. This can be used to track the device's location, list the times of recent alarms and communicate with other recipients for that specific device in a shared chat in the app. One thing worth noting is the standard strap is difficult to get on, older people loose dexterity and I think many will find it impossible. I've ordered a magnetic strap direct from personalalarms.org as I can't see one here. The straps are quite expensive so consider that extra cost when buying the device. All in all though so far I'm really very pleased with the product.

Easy to remove!
Bought this product for a family member who lives alone with dementia. It is suppose to be very difficult for people with dementia to remove, it is not difficult! It is easily removed without help but assistance is needed to put it back on.
