Not quite 5 stars
I have been eyeing these butter crocks for a long time and finally decided to pull the trigger on this time. What pushed me over is this lovely floral design. It reminds me of the types kitchenware I used to see in my Grandma's house when I'd visit her in the country when I was a kid. It's a cheery design. The material is a nice thick and strong porcelain. Just add softened butter into the cylinder cup and add cold water to the base and put the butter inside the water and that's it. I use distilled water. Here's a tip: you don't have to wait for your butter to be softened. I just cut stick butter into pats and stuffed them inside. I leave it out in the air for about 15 minutes then put it in the water. It will still be soft when you go to use use it. Now why did I give it only 4 stars? The lid does not rest securely on the countertop. You can't scoop the butter out of it without it spinning around and falling over. You have to hold it in your hand. I don't know if that's a manufacturing flaw in mines or if that's across the board. If it's the latter they need to fix that. Maybe even add a rubber stopper on the rim for it won't fall over and break. That's the only thing I don't like.

This is a very nice butter crock!
When I learned that my mom likes to keep her butter out on the counter, I decided she needed a cute crock for it! I came across this one and immediately loved the design and blue accents. It is well made and very good quality! She loves that it is functional and cute and the same time.

Horrible quality for kitchen product
After a few days, the butter had a weird blue ring around it, and it started to spread throughout the entire butter inside the dish. Cleaned it throughly and tested it out twice after getting rid of the first batch of butter. Was so disappointed, because I was so excited! Do not buy, and if you do..use it as a cute dish for something other than food.

Super cute design!
This is a nice ceramic butter dish. There’s a line inside to mark the water level. It’s easy to use and I like that the knob on the lid is flat so you can set it on the lid with the butter up and accessible. It’s been colder in my house so it’s not been super spreadable on soft bread when I’ve tried but it was better than it being in the fridge. I like that it’s a more concealed way to store butter and a small jar on the counter compared to normal butter dishes. It’s cute and functional and that makes it a great purchase for me!

Works well.
I have wanted to try one of these for a long time but was not sure it would work. This is a nice porcelain and I like the cute lady bugs and leaves. Different from the usual options. It is nice enough to be gift-able.I put in half the amount of butter since I use less. Because of this, I increased the water a little. You want the water to seal the butter from air. I also added salt to the water for better preservation. The water does not hurt the butter. The butter tastes better than soft butter kept in the fridge. It also spreads better. Changing the water every few days is not a hassle since you don't have to put much in there. Just remember.I really like this. If it does not continue to do well I will return to the review, but I think I will be eating more butter.
