This is a nicely weighted filter unit for my fish tank. I’m going to be using it for breeding, so I don’t want a heavy flow, or anything that will draw the fry into the sponge.So far, so good.It’s quick and easy to assemble and the air pipe is just about long enough to come up and over the tank to attach to the little pump.

Currently set-up in my betta fish tank - this filter does exactly what it needs to but the addition of some internal ceramic/bio media would've been appreciated.Pros:Build: The filter doesnt have a thousand easily-lost or damaged parts and feels like a sturdy little unit that has had a well thought-out design. The filter sponge is dense and one is supplied only. Once a pump is added, the filter is immediately effective and even after short use, I can already see detritus building up within the sponge. The sponge means I don't need to worry about any damage to my betta's long and delicate fins and should I remove and add to my shrimp/community tank, I'm confident that it would be safe for small shrimp/fry as well.Value: The price for the quality of the filter is fair and many competitors with less sturdy-feeling alternatives would charge more. t's a value filter and you get what you pay for but it does the job!Overall, an effective and well-made internal filter perfect for a variety of tank types - happy customer!

Airstone blocks up pretty quick

I received the large round filter sponge….although this will still fit in my tank it is rather large..Comes with the rubber tubing …The sponge seem as though it will really help filtering the tank….The tubing is maybe not as long as expected…..could do with this being longer….Sponge quite difficult to remove…but thankfully won’t need changing much

Great filter! I use this for my bowl-tank and it sits in the middle, the tube coming out of the top isn't really noticeable. Ideally you need to give this a few weeks for the helpful bacteria to mature and colonise the filter sponge. It's a great size and works really well with the air pump.

This is a great idea for catching all the small debris that can end up floating around my cold water fish tank, along with creating a nice effect from the bubbles floating up the tube and to the top.However I did notice after a few days I could see the debris on the sponge which means the filter is doing its job but to me this looks slightly unsightly. If you had the room to maybe place this behind a plant blocking the sponge from being seen then this could be a great filter for a small tank.
