Sony Bravia 8. Just spectacular picture and sound.
I had a very good Samsung Tv but decided to try out Sony. The Sony Bravia 8 outclasses the Samsung by far. The picture quality is breath taking, the depth of the sound and bass is awesome. Very easy to set up and nice controls via the Sony app. The TV controller lights up when I pick it up. 4K is spectacular and have used for gaming on Xbox which is awesome. The only drawback is the short length of the plug. Other than that, the Sony Tv is amazing.

Great TV shame about the plug.
TV lives up to expectations with regards to picture and sound quality. However i have a few niggles.1 - The power cable is relatively short and sealed at both ends preventing you feeding it through any consealed ducting.2- The second issue is the setting up. It's far too complicated, focusing on streaming services. At the end of what I thought was set up I still hadn't got terrestrial TV and had to do that manually from settings. I should have just started with that. It took an hour or more to get up and running. Any other TV would be less than 10 minutes.3 - Thirdly the minimalist remote has a great weighty feel which I like but changing channel is a pain. Google assistant seems to not realise bbc has an hd version and sends you to the bbc radio rather than TV channel no matter what variation of description you give it. To get to hd otherwise you need to navigate through the menu at the bottom of the screen. In that regard the more traditional remote wins hands down.4- The recording feature via USB needs a large USB stick. It says 32gb up but when I tried with 32 it said it had little space and wouldn't work. I'm about to try with Tb to see whether that works. Hopefully it will. The TV did however pick up all my services (such as media server) with minimal input from me, and on a basic portable aerial seems to have no difficulty receiving a hd signal.Having got over the jnitial hurdles and familiarisation I am very pleased.

Honestly a dreadful TV
This TV arrived looking great and after a relatively quick and easy installation on the wall I fired it up.The picture quality of the TV is good without being absolutely stunning, bear in mind I had upgraded from a LCD LG TV from 2013.The issue here, and the reason for my 1 star review, is the laughably bad sound quality the TV has. Unlike any TV I've owned, when the picture on the screen changes or there are bright colours displayed on the screen the TV emits a high pitched "whine" similar to something that a cat scarer might make.To make matters worse, the high pitched noise isn't resolved by muting the TV (it seems to be a screen issue rather than a noise originating from the inbuilt speakers, which are usually very good). When watching high energy action films or anything with a consistent backing track the issue is less noticeable however, sports like Tennis or Golf where there are long periods of silence and bright green images frequently displayed are unwatchable. For a £2,000 TV I expected a lot better than this, I'm a huge Sony fan, who still regularly uses Sony kit in my home dating back over 50 years. To make matters even worse, I complained to Amazon about the issue, after following the recommended online steps to resolve the problem which didn't work, and they promised to send out an engineer to assess the issue. This, of course, never happened so, after a considerable outlay I'm left with a TV that I'm embarrassed to use because of the high pitched whining sound which it makes without fail whenever the screen colours change.I'd highly recommend looking at other brands because Sony don't seem to take the quality control of their TVs seriously any longer.
