SUIZAN Folding Ryoba Double Edge Saw 240mm - Professional Japanese Pullsaw Handsaw Woodworking Tools

This was my first time using a Japanese pull saw. However, the skill and muscle memory associated with using a Western push saw lends itself naturally to succeeding off the bat with this pull saw. This 5-inch Ryoba made short work of my sheesham wood study table. The quality of the cut was astonishing. In fact, I managed to saw off the legs of the hard wood table within minutes. But most surprisingly, the precision and consistency of the cuts allowed the table to sit true without the need for any shimming. I'll be buying the Dozuki saw as well to transition completely to Japanese pull saws.

For the first time in my life I was able to saw through a piece of wood with ease. My first experience with a pull saw, and it was very good. Both the edges of the cut were smooth unlike normal saws and it required very little effort to cut. Very happy with the product.

With the very first use, the blade got bent. It takes time forever to cut even a 2 inches thick wooden log. I should have used it soon after buying it so that I could have returned it immediately. Discovered a hard way that Japan also makes useless things :) Anyways, incase you decide to buy this, make sure you have a very valid reason for buying this instead of a motorized cutting machine. After buying this, use it immediately and ensure you are happy with this thing or else return within the return window. I won't recommend this product to anyone.

Cuts a fine line but the blade (for me) is just too flexible. I have to keep the cutting close to the handle.

This is a fantastic folding pull saw. Teeth are sharp and without burrs. The saw cuts cleanly and without scraping. The handle is not as comfortable as I'd prefer due to the channel on the underside where the blade folds into the handle, but is good otherwise.
