This is the one you want! Another quality Leviton control
This is the one you want! (If you don't need a timer override, and have a neutral in the box)Wow. Leviton has really always been my first choice in AC switches, but I never had a real reason until I witnessed the craftsmanship of this timer wall unit. The buttons are durable and pushdown with a nice soft click. The backing is fully enclosed in a safe chassis and the unit comes with lead wires of sufficient length for circuiting. The relay is turned to off in normal use, and when you hit a time button, the relay switches to on and will remain at on until the time runs out, or you hit the bottom off button. If you change your mind, and hit a different time button while the relay is on, the relay remains on, and the timer is reset to the newly selected time. Basically, how it aught to work.A few things:If you need an ON override ( a button to leave the relay on and override the timer), this unit is not for you. In my use case, I did not want this functionality, as this is an economy switch and the timer shall always be activated when the relay is on.Also, this timer requires power to 'think', so it itself needs a neutral wire for AC. You CANNOT use the ground for this purpose. You MUST use a neutral to wire this switch. Since the switch I replaced this with had simply a hot in, and hot out of the box, I was required to run a 3conductor + Ground cable to give the box: Ground, Neutral, Hot in and Hot Out. Make sure you have a deep wall box, as you'll need all the room you can get for the wires and wire-nuts involved to make this circuiting safe.In conclusion: This unit is fantastic. But, if you're an amateur electrician and the Neutral is not available in the box, I would highly recommend getting a qualified technician to run the proper wiring. The switch is worth it.

I have about 6 of these around the house, but I especially use them in the bathroom!
The cure the issue of using a fan! You want 10 minutes after you leave a bathroom, great! and the air smells better. Want to get all that humidity out after a shower, put it on 60 when you go in and hit 20 wen you leave, EASY!

Super but ...
I am a repeat customer with a few orders over the last 9 years under my belt.I first started using for my bedroom Casablanca fan. With 2,4,6,8,12 hour settings and no faint tic tic tic, it was a home run.Next was my outdoor detached garage interior lighting. I wanting to stop leaving the lights on overnight by mistake. Wonderful again.I have had to replace them (for whatever reason, I am not an electrical engineer) after 5 - 7 years. At least for the garage application, where it sees summer temps in the 90s and SC humidity this is totally OK. Whatever. They are neat, attractive and well-suited for my needs

Simple and works great.
This is my second purchase of the same timer switch. The first one I installed about 2 yrs ago and has been working great so far. I use it in my son's bedroom to control the ceiling fan. At night we just push the amount of time and it turns itself off. I really liked the fact that this switch can go up to 2 hrs. My biggest issue is that there is no "ON" mode...your only option is a timer and an OFF button. My second issue is minor, but when you depress one of the buttons, there is a loud "click" when pushing it. So sometimes at night if I want to turn on the fan, the simple pressing of the button wakes up my son. (he's a very light sleeper).Installation was very simple as my needs are just on/off for the ceiling fan. Light control for the fan is handled by a separate wall switch. The switch does allow for a three-way configuration, but I can't say how difficult it is to do that.

Worked OK for a little over a year...
Installed this October 2012 in the bathroom fan that gets the heaviest use in our home. A few weeks ago it started buzzing like crazy at start then eventually would settle down. It seems that Leviton was in denial initially about quality issues with this product, but now they are replacing them no questions asked. Based upon other reviews here I called their support number 800-824-3005 press 3, and they took my address, etc. and are shipping me a replacement. I have 3 more of these around my house, so time will tell how they hold up.Update 11-9-14: The new replacement they sent me lasted about 7 months. It's buzzing loudly now like the first one. I guess I'll have to call again and see if they'll send me another one.

Great Timer Switch, Very Satisfied
I purchased this switch to operate a 2-way whole-house fan along with an Air Vent 2-speed Hi / Low decora switch. The main criteria I was looking for was the load rating, and the various time options. My fan has a 2/3 HP motor, so I wanted a switch that was rated for more than that. Many of the ones I found were only .5 HP, so I was pleased to find this series in multiple timer options. The unit was straight forward to install, though I didn't use any of the advanced options like a remote or 3-way lighting, as for my application they weren't needed. I connected the red "load" output wire to the center of the 2-speed switch where the "hot" (black) power connection would usually go. This means that the timer switch must be turned on for the fan to operate, so I can leave the 2-speed switch left on and the fan will still shut off when time selected has elapsed. The switch is very responsive and turns on instantly when a selection is pressed. The unit seems to be of good quality, and I would recommend to others.

Perfect for heated towel bar
We kept forgetting to turn off our heated towel bars, so this was a perfect addition to our new bathroom. The longer timeframes mean that towels are near-dry when it auto-off's. Usual issues with anything like this: need to have neutral AND HOT available, and it's a tight fit in a standard box with 6"+ of wire. But judicious tucking and bending and it all fits.
