Another update- I contacted the company and they were VERY helpful and responsive. They not only replaced the broken one, they sent me another pair and did so right away. I’ll update if the Himalayan salt breaks another one but if I don’t post again it’s because it’s all working great.Update - the one we use for pink Himalayan salt broke after 2 months of use. The grinder inside it broke. It’s a ceramic grinder and that salt is tough so I wouldn’t recommend it for that at all. We’ll see how long the pepper one lasts.Pros - works easily and look nice. We appreciate the ability to change the coarseness of the grind and it’s helpful with arthritic hands.Cons - only one so far, the button is so easy to push we are still hitting it when picking up and setting down. More so for the guys with bigger hands. I don’t know that it’s a con as much as a heads up. 😉

Having already gone through two sets of powered salt and pepper mills, I spent quite a lot of time researching a more viable option, settling on the ones I am reviewing here.The first set (given as a gift to me by my brother) before these seemed okay until they broke after around three years, but my main complaint until they broke was that they were hard to reload and because they dispensed out of the bottom, requiring the little plastic covers they came with on the bottom of the grinders to keep salt and pepper from getting all over the table.Also, the design of this particular grinder was rather fragile.Link - https://www.amazon.com/Electric-Salt-Pepper-Grinder-Set/dp/B07QNVRRFVThat flaw is inherent with all of the similar salt and pepper mills out that grind out of the bottom instead of the top, so I bought thes that grind out of the top - https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07RZTJ5MKI liked that the new set couldn't be easier to refill and appeared more sturdy, but I soon found that there were new problems, namely a poorly designed battery compartment with an upside down battery compartment (spring on the positive battery terminal?) and the fact that salt and pepper would get into the battery compartment, corroding the contacts for the batteries and damaging the other electronic components inside.This second set of grinders didn't even last as long as the first ones, so I spent quite a bit of time trying to locate an alternative without the flaws of the first two sets, finally settling on these.The new ones at first look like the previous grinders, grinding out of the top, but the new ones don't have replaceable batteries, instead having rechargeable lithium-ion batteries sealed off completely from the grinder components, which means we now can't get corrosion from salt and pepper getting into the battery compartment that plagued the last set.The last set of grinders also would often start grinding if accidentally tipped over (they were rather top heavy), which activated the grinder to run salt and pepper all over the table, but this new set won't do that because they have a small button on the side that must be pressed first to allow the automatic grinder to operate before use.These new grinders are also quite a bit lighter on top, so nowhere near as prone to tipping over as both of the previous grinders.I charged both grinders up right after I bought them fourteen months ago, and we use them daily, yet I still haven't had to recharge them, so the batteries clearly have excellent capacity, and they use an ordinary micro-USB cable to charge, so no proprietary charging cables are a real point in its favor.It should also be mentioned that these grinders also have a nice LED light, so perfect for candlelight dinners.These grinders are exactly what I was looking for.UPDATE 14JAN23:I've now had these grinders for nearly a year and a half and I have zero complaints.They really hold a charge well (they lasted well over a year before I recharged them), they grind salt and pepper perfectly, they're durable, and (my biggest concern) they do not have a problem with salt and pepper getting into the electronics.These have exceeded my expectations, and I have already bought a second set for myself, and I won't hesitate to buy these for any of my friends or family.Highly recommended.

The salt and pepper shakers are very well made, the wood looks nice, and they do a great job at grinding pepper and course salt. The adjustments allow you to change the grind from his courses you'd like to powder fine. Only ding is the location of the button? Because it's in a place where you need to grab the salt and pepper shaker, when you go to pick them up and put them back in the cabinet, more often than not you accidentally hit the button and some grinds come out. Not the end of the world, but if they put the button on the very top so you can hit it with your thumb, this becomes a non-issue. Just some constructive criticism, but great product. Fix this and I easily give five stars.

I have arthritis but love fresh cracked and pink salt. These are the answer to my prayers. They’re easy to hold and simple to refill. Press the button once to start and once to stop. I’d buy again.

Funciona bien

I purchased these in July 2024 as a Christmas gift for my daughter. May 2025 they DON’T work anymore….5 months! I Will try contacting Amazon but I doubt they will replace them. I would definitely NOT recommend this product! I’m hesitant to even give it one star…..

I’m having trouble opening the lid to refill with spices. Can anyone help with tips?
