I ordered it to remove the hair from my tattoo areas just so the tattoos can be seen better.However, I just randomly checked to make sure IPL was OK for tattoos and it definitely is not. It turns out that IPL targets pigmentation, and when it comes into contact with the pigment from tattoos, it can dissolve the ink and cause burns, scarring, blistering, and skin damage. It can also mess up the tattoo. SO DON’T USE IT ON TATTOO AREAS.That being said, I’m still happy to have it for removing hair in other areas. The instructions are detailed, though there are some English translation issues to navigate. However, I was able to make my way through the manual to understand how to use it. I recommend reading the entire manual before use. I did not and realized afterward that I’d missed something. When you start reading the manual, it talks about doing a small test on one’s arm to see how you react after 24 hours. This is a great practice. However, it doesn’t tell you about prepping the area until much later, so if you’re just using it as you’re following the manual, you’ll miss the part that says you’re supposed to shave the area first. So just read the whole thing.My experience with this so far is “we’ll see”. It operates exactly how it is described in the manual, and it feels like a quality product. But it takes many applications before you’re supposed to see results. One thing to note, is that it’s not COMPLETELY painless. However, the pain is extremely minimal.
