Works very well. I have tried it in the yard and so far it is great. I wish it was completely water proof, but for the price is is a good detector.

This thing worked better than expected. I needed to locate property line pins that were buried years ago.

This is a great little metal detector pinpointer. We bought it for the little kids to use on a camping trip. We arrived early and hid coins and small pieces of costume jewelry in the sand at their campsite. The kids loved it. It is small enough to use with their little hands easily, it is waterproof, and it works well. We used it frequently for three full days, and the batteries were still going strong. However, it is a pinpointer, so you have to be directly over the object for the metal detector to locate it. We used it as a kids' toy, but it would also work well for serious metal detection when paired with a larger, full-size medical detector, which provides a broader search area. You would then search in that area with the pinpointer to find its exact location without having to dig through a couple of square feet to locate it.

Works great. My only complaint is there’s only one tone(beep) so you might be 3 inches away or right on top.

I bought this to go along with my metal detector. I wasn't sure how well it would work for something that cost $20. Boy, was I surprised. This device worked way better than I expected. I used it for a week at Ocean Isle Beach. It saved me a lot of excess digging. I detected the target with my metal detector dig a little and didn't find the target. I put the pinpointed in the hole and located the target very quickly, then focused on that spot when digging. Very happy with this product. It's not made to go in water other than the tip, but that's fine with me as I mostly stay on the beach.

ok ive owned it for a year now and feel i can make a proper review, after reading the complaints of a few ppl here is what i have found. as advertised it is a pinpointer you need a real metal detector to find the item and then this breaks it down into a much more contained area after u dig it out. if you find that when it goes off then wont stop beeping until you shut it off, your battery is low, i dont know if they changed design in a year but mine u just drop battery in, yes u can put it in backwards did not think trying that was a good idea could damage a diode so if anyone has tried that and it still works u might post it. if u have found some metal with your detector and u need to pinpoint it this is a great inexpensive tool it did exactly what i bought it for got here quickly and the battery supplied lasted several outings, as for waterproof i believe its like your metal detector is waterproof. well at least mine.. its not a spendy one, the base is waterproof and the electronics are not, the on/off button doesnt look waterproof to me and the speaker doesnt either but the part u look for metal with up to about 4 inches does, not sure why you are trying to pinpoint under water u dig it out then check the ... muck

It works well and I like the price. The con is you have to keep pressing the button hard and after 10 sec, my thumb was getting cramps. Wouldn’t recommend for anything other than one time project to find something in a small area.

Works as it should only about 2-3 inch depth but what more do you expect for this price.

Great beginner pinpointer. If you are going to get one, get this! Its 100X better then having none at all. You will never go back, trust me. Its not the highest quality but can't be beat for the price. Helps quickly dig up your find in no time.

If you want to keep your child entertained for hours. Buy this! Great for bringing a friend to help dig up treasures. Bought for my 10 year old who basically has everything, and it was a hit with him and his pals. You may spend more time on the beach, trails or wetlands with this so be prepared!
