such an amazing book it should be cheaper. This is a life changing series and I read it several years ago and couldn't wait to read it again. Encompassing the gospel through a very gripping narrative, including what it really means to be a Christian and the hardships in the early years of persecution these are very real characters with all the misgivings of a faith in a God who doesn't seek retribution for His Son's death, but is a God of love and mercy. I recommend this book to everyone - it will stir your soul and bless your journeyMy only criticism is that it is very expensive and I really PRAY that the author would make it her Christian service to make it cheaper for people to access the message inside it. I have wanted to buy it for a number of people but it is simply too expensive. This would be her best service for this book to reach a wider audience.

Francine Rivers is THE best Christian writer of fiction, I have ever come across. After reading Redeeming Love, based on the book of Hosea, I then read the Mark of the Lion Trilogy and I devoured each book! Francine Rivers has done her research for these books, they contain information based on historical facts, such as the nature of the persecution of the early Church and, as such they're not 'easy reading'. The story lines are incredibly well thought out, the three main characters and their lives are so well written that you feel you know them! This is not cheesy Christian fiction, it is quite traumatic in places - but Christian values are highlighted - and the characters get it wrong sometimes - hooray!! I would recommend this series of books to anyone - you won't be disappointed!

This is an amazing trilogy. My daughter bought me this for my birthday and then discovered I had already read it, but does that matter.......No way! I am half way through the second book, I started reading them at the end of October and it's now 11th November, I cannot put my kindle down. I really look forward to going to bed to get reading. It would even be a great trilogy for someone who isn't saved as the Gospel message is throughout the book. It just makes you feel as if you are there around the time after Christ was crucified. I just love imagining Christ walking through the same streets as the characters and I fell in love with the main character Hadassah. I don't want to get to the end of the books to be honest and look forward to reading them again and again. Buy this trilogy you won't be disappointed. The only other book I normally read is my Bible and I love that there are scriptures quoted throughout.

Quality of the books themselves was really good, and I had no damage to the box when I received it. There is a bit of damage to the box now from use despite me being careful with it, so be gentle when taking the books out and putting them in.Story wise, I thought the series was just amazing. I was captivated throughout the series and really became invested in the journeys of all the characters. So beautifully written.

Fantastic story I love this author she must do a whole lot of research before she gets to typing. I'm not even half way through it and am gripped by the way she tells it.Every book is. So different from the rest...

As a Rivers newbie, I didn't want to be disappointed following my love for Redeeming Love, but I'm very glad I read it because I was hooked all the way through - I found myself not being able to put the books down; life went out the window until I'd read them. The first book, 'A Voice in the Wind', took a few chapters to set the scene and once I persisted through them, I was hooked. I HAD to read the second book, 'An Echo in the Darkness', like my life depended on it! By the third book, my enthusiasm had slightly waned but I still throughly enjoyed it. Now I've read this series, I've definately got the Rivers bug! Recommended to any female Christian, in need of inspiration and a boost in their Christian walk. This book will enhance your appreciation for what life may have been like for the early Christians and may help you become a little more like Jesus.

Francine Rivers does her best work in these books, had these many reads ago but want my daughters to read them so it was a Christmas gift

Well written with engaging and well developed characters. Wonderful use of scripture throughout Heart wrenching and joyful. Francine Rivers is such a gifted writer I have heard of her books, but never read her. I have already bought another of her novels

Ich habe mir den 1. Teil geliehen und bin total begeistert! Francine rivers schreibt ein gutes und verständliches Englisch und bringt die biblische Thematik (background) sehr gut rüber ohne dass man es merkt oder sich 'belehrt' oder gelangweilt fühlt. Tyndale House ist ein hervorragender Verlag für theologische Fachliteratur und es hat mich sehr gefreut dass es nun auch Belletristik gibt! Die Lieferung erfolgte (nach Zusage für Montag) am Freitag in 1A Zustand und ich bin nun schon gespannt auf Teil 2&3 😍💓Nachtrag : habe nun alle verschlungen! WOW! fantastic! Hadassah zeigt wie man stark bleibt! Ebenso wie Rizpah in Teil 3 - sehr erbaulich!I 'inhaled' the books. The 1st I borrowed but I knew that I would really would like to have them by my own. So now I've got them in a very good condition and I love the characters of Hadassah and Rizpah. They show how to be strong and they are very encouraging!

I love Mark of the lion, its close to the heart even though the story is centered a few years after Christs crucifiction.
