A perfect shoe designed for the elegant minimalist, the Vi-B is a more evolved ballet flat for women to go.

instep way too narrow
Soo disappointed with these after the rave reviews but they just do not fit the natural shape of the foot, which I would have thought is the whole point. The length and toe shapes are ok -ish and I think I would have quite liked the feel of those. However, there is (understandably) no arch support as the side netting is flexible so you foot just spreads out as you walk. The problem is this means the mesh sides of the shoe actually fall under your foot and my sole ended up resting flat on them as I walked as the actual sole base was not broad enough. Not at all comfy and not fit for purpose. They're very expensive for what they are even at the discounted Amazon price so considering this design flaw they're heading straight back.

I am SO impressed!
I had high expectations for these shoes and I must say, they have been surpassed. My feet are wide and I had read in some reviews that Vibrams allowed feet to retain their natural shape as well as give the wearer more opportunity to use their feet as they are intended. I do not have many shoes that do not, in some way, squish my toes even just a little bit closer together. And no shoes that allow my toes to move completely independently from each other. Wearing Vibrams changes all that. Walking truly becomes a different experience. You feel lighter on your feet, I feel more steady and I have the tendency to walk on my toes a lot more. Or just use my heels less heavily (presumably because in normal shoes, putting more of my weight on the balls of my feet squishes my feet more?). This changed way of walking does mean you use your leg, ankle and foot muscles differently. I was so thrilled with them that I wore them for whole days right from the start. Which included a multi-day music festival after only a week of owning them. So I broke all the rules and I did pay for it a small amount, with achy, tired legs and muscle spasms in places (mainly my lower legs) that I didn't even realised contain muscles. Hmm, that sounded better in my head; of course I know my lower legs contain muscles, it's just that the spasms occurred in different locations from where I would have expected to feel them).I have already talked my husband into ordering some Vibrams and have been singing their praises to anyone and everyone who was willing to listen (or who just asked me what on earth I was wearing). As others have remarked, wearing these you'll have to be willing to talk about them, as people will ask. However, I expect you'll like them as much as I do, in which case you won't mind. I do expect Vibrams to be more of a Summer shoe for me, I expect my vanity will get the better of my when it comes to year-round wear. Although who knows how I feel once I stop wearing them in the course of the Autumn?Meanwhile, and since it is Summer still, GET SOME. You won't regret it. And oh yes, I've read reviews of people wearing these for things like yoga, pilates, and weight-work in the gym. Yes to all 3, these will be perfect for those past-times too.

I can climb on rocks then swim in these svelt shoes
I love these even if they do look a bit weird! Have been swimming in the rocky river gorge with them on and although the heel is shallow they haven't been swept off. Definitely low profile so nothing sticks out clumsily. My daughter doesn't like them but I love them. No cushioning to sole so it's proper barefoot. Do size them properly by measuring your foot and applying the maths to their chart. I'm a 6 And bought a 6-6.5 which says its 38EU (I'm usually 39. I'd say a couple of mm more would feel comfiest, they are tight but on the OK side. Don't know if the size up may have been more comfy. Hard to size from this very exacting perspective

My instep slips out
I would give these five stars if I didn’t wear an instep for my left leg. It keeps slipping out because the sides are low. But the canvas five fingers I have are excellent and a lot more comfortable. Very easy on the toes.

Feels like walking bare foot.
Love the shoes. They are great for walking around the hospital and so far they seem to be preventing any back issues that I can get with normal shoes after spinal ops.It is the closest thing to walking bare foot. The grip is brilliant, not sliding on wet floors as as I do alot of sensory work on the floor they are neat and bend with my foot when sat down. They keep my feet cool and I will definitely be buying more. Not great for outdoor use if you are not use to the uneven ground but for me they are great for work.I would probably go for the 8- 8.5 next time. I have a 7.5-8 and think they may just be on the tighe side but not so they are uncomfy.

My favourite Vibrams
These are actually my second pair of this model - I love my existing pair so much I invested in a back-up pair in case they stop making them. These are the most minimal shoes Vibram makes so they're not for running in mud, hiking over rocks or high-impact workouts - there are other models for those - but they're great for walking around. They are very comfortable and easy to get on and off. Although I have duck feet (wide toes, narrow heels) they fit snugly and don't fall off. I love them.

Worth a try
Really impressed. Not sure what to expect but glad I tried them. Fit chosen after reading their guide on website and pleased with results. Only slight difficulty was tab at back of heels, which rubbed to start with but are softening now.Seriously thinking about another pair but may well wait until weather improves!

Great Shoes but Maybe Not for Everyone
I think these shoes are fantastic - I love being barefoot and it means that I can wear them inside and outdoors for winter. The toes make them a little tricky to wiggle into, but they fit very well. Having said that, my husband tried them on and didn't like them at all; I have long slim feet and toes which fit perfectly into the design. They are wonderful shoes but may or may not suit you depending on the shape of your feet. Best advice is prepare to be either delighted or disappointed. I love them.
