My Favorite Set of Gel Pens
I am a crafter and a sewer so I know the name Friskars and the quality that comes with the name in their line of products. This particular Friskar set of gel pens is my most favorite set of pens whether it be for scrapbooking or most recently coloring. I have bought this particular set more than once. I've given this as Christmas presents, I got my own set of these pens for Christmas and I just recently bought a second set of gel pens for "backup" so I don't run out of a color. I usually color before bedtime as it is a relaxing thing to do prior to turning in. I like the more intricate coloring projects like the Johanna Basford books and currently this year's calendar. I need a pen which will give me good color results, not pool ink onto my project and most importantly have ink that does not have a strong odor. The pens in this Friskar set provides each of those points each and everytime I use one of the pens! Sometimes a gel pen has to be "tapped" to get the ink down towards the nib of the pen. I have had this experience with a pen or two in this set, but it happens usually in any make of gel pen. It's not a big issue for me. A tap and I am back on my way to working on my evening project. The ink in these pens, I have found gives good coverage in the areas one needs it and no pen in this set has pooled out ink when I went to use the pen on paper. The pen and its ink flows so that one can do the fine details of intricate projects and highlight with no worries of making a mess from pooling ink. I also like the ink that Friskars puts in their pens as there is no odor that overcomes one as they sit and color during their crafting time. Not all gel pens can claim this. No obnoxious smell, no headaches, just an enjoyable crafting time with these pens and one's project. Although I did not take any stars away, there is only one thing that as a crafter and person who colors that I think Friskars could do to make their set an even more better product is to add pens with more hues of the primary colors in all of it's ink whether pastel, neon, glitter or metallic. When you get large intricate patterns like Ms. Basford does in her books and pattern, one can get a bit challenged in how to used the same green hues over and over anew, especially when there is a lot of nature, leaves and greenery. Friskars did make a 96 count gel pen box but it is simply a double set of these pens. For the price that is being offered for this set by an individual sellar, it is cheaper just to buy 2 sets of this 48 pen set (or try to find a complementary set of pens that will offer hues to add on to this primary Friskars set). As large as the Friskars Company is, I would like to think that they could come up with a larger box of gel pens with more hues on their own giving their crafter, scrapbooker or person who likes to color a bigger variety of this great gel pens product. I use these pens on a daily basis on Ms. Basford's coloring 2016 calendar and am coming out with excellent results and colors after each monthly project has dried as a finished project! I can't tell fellow Amazon shoppers how much I enjoy working with this Friskars set of pens! I consider this set to be my primary go to set out of any additional gel pens I have or will have to complement this primary set.

Decent Quality Pens for the price.
I have been an artist for as long as I can remember. And I have always had a passion for coloring. I tend to work with works using colored pencils and Markers....With that in mind. I shall continue.... I paid $13.81 for my set. I wanted some inexpensive pens for my Adult coloring books so I did not have to use up my high quality tools. I wanted pens that would not bleed though the paper, clot, or blob.. skipping I can deal with. I also wanted pens that would be able to handle books that have extreme amounts of detail in them and these pens seem to do the trick. Let me break down the Quality.... 'glitter - amazing vibrancy, good flow of ink, tends to be "juicy" - my favorite to use even when I am not a fan of glitter. 'metallic- amazing vibrancy, good flow of ink, tends to be "juicy" - love using them. 'bright/neon - VERY vibrant color, good flow of ink 'pastel/milky - I tend to have trouble with these, it seems like there is a scratching eel when you write w them. Ink tends to skip, but as you work with them the ink will flow --- I will do a follow up review with this set 'swirl/multi-colored milky -- some of them work extremely well where as others seem like they need a bit more variation of the inks injected into them. None the less ... fun to play with. Would I purchase them again? YES.... even though they have some "minor" issues. It is still a good Quality pen set on the cheap. Sample Images pictured (colored by me with these pens) are from the HalloweenScapes (Dover Holiday Coloring Book)

Recommended and economical.
Modest investment for a good gel pen set. Are these Sakura Gelly Roll, "ice cream smooth," quality? Eh, no. But for a very modest investment, you receive 48 gel pens of good quality. Flow is fairly consistent, lots of variety (although I have no use for working with neon), and lots of great colors. I love the metallic pens and the glitter pens, some great colors, as well as the more translucent ones. Some really stunning colors that work pretty well most of the time. I bought the more expensive TekWriter set, and most of the ink seemed to me pretty much like Fiskars: there are identical colors, as though there are hidden vats of commercial gel ink bought for mass production. Seriously. But with TekWriter you get fatter pens with rubber grips -- which I don't find necessary -- and the storage configuration that you are buying with the pens. For myself, it was the set of two cases, that I find overly bulky and not worth the money. I have purchased Fiskars twice for personal use, and once as a gift, and am completely happy with them (apart from the neon). The little antique storage box that I have here at home is much more aesthetically pleasing than the overpriced and bulky TekWriter plastic cases, and the Fiskar pens perform as well if not better than TekWriter. Do they perform like Sakura Gelly Rolls. No. But that said, you do get more color variety in this, unless you are purchasing the large Sakura Gelly Roll set that is about 4-5 times the price of this set. At this price, I can invest more money in fine art supplies, or buy another book . . . . Worthwhile and recommended purchase.

I have never used gel pens before (adult colourer) but am totally wowed. These are excellent, the flow is much nicer and easier than fineliners of good quality, and the colour range is brilliant. I have found in the past when buying colouring pens that some are good and some bad and no matter what the make, you always get the same colours. These ALL flow well, the colour range is varied and different and for anyone out there, who like me hasn't used before, buy them and be truly satisfied. Great value for money. HIGHLY RECOMMEND.

Really great gel pens, easy to use, good for using with the adult coloring book, smooth tips and a fantastic price for a pack of 48's. A lot of colors to pick from. The gel pack has metallic, neon and regular colors. If anyone is looking for gel pens I suggest you get the Fiskars brand. I've tried different brands of gel pens and you do not get the variety you get with this product. I used the pens as soon as they arrived, the ease of using and how smooth the pens glide over the page you are coloring. The product was well packed and fast delivered.
