Q: My dog doesn't know how to use the toy! Does anyone have any suggestions on how to teach her?

My dog also had trouble. I would take his paw and push on the tray and let his favorite treat fall. I did this several times a day for a while and one day he did it. He would only do it for the mini bones and not his dog food. I kept the mini bones in it and he would smell around it. This way it kept his interest. But he would not do anything if I put his hard dog food in it. He wanted his treats to come out.

Q: Is this dishwasher safe? How can this be cleaned.

I couldn't figure out how to properly clean it. The only treats I found that would work was kibble, which is a little greasy and left a film on the inside of the "window". I was unable to properly clean it and found that it didn't work very well and returned the toy for a refund.

Q: Is there a way to control how much kibble is released?

Only by putting in less food. Other wise no. Also it doesn't give the amount shown in the picture. It's way less.

Q: The panel that's supposed to be pushed down is way too stiff & locks up sometimes. Is there anyway to fix this? Is this how it's supposed to be?

You just have to reach your finger up into the slot. Sometimes the kibble jams it.
