A perfect replacement...More workable/durable than the OEM unit which came with my office chair. Pricing is right on. Just follow the simple instructions for replacing the your cylinder. I needed a larger pipe wrench that initially anticipated to remove the old cylinder.

Little harder to adjust up and down because of the pressure of the cylinder, but, so far so good. Much cheaper than buying a new chair and took all but 10 minutes to install with a couple clothes and a small hammer to nudge the old one out of the chair seat. Ill update if it goes out within a year.

I had read many tips and watched many videos on removing the old gas cylinder and thought I was ready with my secret weapon...my 18 inch pipe wrench. Sadly it did not work in twisting out the cylinder. Had to remove bottom mechanism of chair to access the end of the cylinder to try to drive it out of the chair bottom apparatus. With a 5lb sledge and a huge screwdriver I attempted to drive the cylinder out with extreme force. Well I got my screwdriver wedged into the middle of the cylinder and it would not come out. Drove upwards on the screwdriver handle to get it out and promptly broke my handle off. Fixed later with gorilla glue so no worries. So anyway banged, grunted, and silently cursed until I remembered another trick I had not seen mentioned and that was a MAPP gas torch. Heated the connection where the cylinder was basically welded inside and re-hammered into the cylinder with a socket extension and out it popped. WOW. Finally. After letting it cool, I reattached the mechanism to the bottom of my chair and in slid the new cylinder and then on the legs. Promptly sat down in it and tried to raise the chair up. It did not work at all. Well removed it all again and saw a purple plastic cap that was over the white piece that was the actual gas cylinder control. I unscrewed that purple piece and reassembled it all one more time and it all worked great. Seems very strong and no leaks so far. When I lower it may be a little more of a drop than the old one and not as smooth but will try to get used to it. Overall giving it a good buy and hoping it last for years as not looking forward to removing the cylinder in the future again. Dropping to 4 stars as there were no instructions to remove the purple plastic cap and it cost me more time to disassemble and reassemble it.

Easy to install. Does the job. Will see how long it lasts. Helped save me a few $$ for sure on an existing office chair that needed a new cylinder but the rest of the frame was fine.

Perfect fit. Can’t believe I didn’t buy this years ago. Better than the original and no play in the seat when I sit down and I’m a big dude.

The shock worked as it should and was easy to install

My 4-year old home office desk chair would slowly lower throughout the day, to the point of becoming really distracting during meetings. It seemed a shame to throw it out and buy a new one, so I looked into replacing the cylinder. A couple of YouTube searches later and I found out that it's an easy thing to do at home as long as you have a decent pipe wrench and a 5-pound hammer. I ordered this new cylinder and it took me about 10 minutes to switch it out with the old one. It definitely has a longer stroke than my old cylinder, making my chair sit about 4 inches higher at the highest setting, but it works, and I can easily lower it to any height I want. Hopefully it lasts longer than my old one, but I'm happy with the purchase.

Seems like a universal fitment. Worked perfectly for me. Measure your old gas cylinder and ensure its the same height. I removed the black case because my chair had a different design however the silver part was standard size and fits well. There's small parts inside the black cylinder so be careful not to loose anything

Fits well, make sure to measure the travel of old one as majority on here were actually shorter. Need hammer/mallet and a pipe wrench to remove old one. Simply mallet hit bottom to loosen from cylinder and years of sitting in chair, top chamber pipe wrench needed to spin about to loosen from chair. Then simply remove the new cap on the new cylinder and place in the feet and then top chair and sit on chair and move up and down a few times and then it’s like new

I can't say enough about how incredible this product is. I bought a very expensive showroom demo office chair for $100. I then realized that it is possible to use this product to revive the chair to 'like new'! I suggest you don't throw out your beloved office chair and just put in a new lift. It takes some elbow grease getting the old one out, but you'll feel accomplished and pleased with this product. Give your chair some surgery and don't kick it to the curb😿

Bought it an year ago, still working fine. Slightly expensive than from local vendors but it shows in quality.
