Stylish, Protective, and Perfect Fit!
I’m really impressed with this iPad case! The quality feels premium, sturdy on the outside but soft on the inside to protect the screen. The magnetic cover works perfectly for auto sleep/wake, and it folds easily into a stable stand for watching videos or typing. I also love the built-in Apple Pencil holder, it’s so convenient and keeps everything secure. Overall, this case looks sleek, feels durable, and gives my iPad a professional look. Definitely worth it!

Very high quality case.
I absolutely loved this case for my iPad. It was so easy to install because the iPad just magnetically attaches to the case. Also, the material of the case feels very high-quality in comparison to other case brands. It’s really easy to carry around. It’s super lightweight too. The only thing I don’t like about this case is that there’s no protection on the sides of the iPad, but that really wasn’t a problem for me because I usually just keep my iPad in my backpack when walking around. Also this case, literally never gets dirty and I think that’s because of the material they used to make the outside of it but like I have this case on my iPad for I think like over a year and a half, and there was never any stains or anything on it.

High quality case makes for a returning customer
I just upgraded from the 4th Gen iPad Air to the 7th Gen iPad Pro. I’ve had the iPad Air for the better part of 5 years, and have had this same case on it since day one. When I got the new iPad Pro, I didn’t bother shopping around for cases. I’ve been so beyond satisfied with the first one I purchased, that I knew I wanted the exact same one for my new iPad. If you’re looking for a high quality, minimal case, look no further. You will not find a better case for the price. In the years I’ve spent with the first one, I’ve never found myself wishing I had purchased something else. You get the same premium look and feel of the Apple folio case (which mind you, is 4x the price of this one) with the added benefit of the magnetic clasp that helps keep the pencil securely in place. Keep in mind that this is a borderless case, so don’t expect any sort of drop protection; but if like me, you use the iPad for work, school, or casual media viewing at home, this is a great case that will protect your investment from the day to day wear and tear of setting it down, transporting it in your bag etcetera. The magnets are strong, and it’s very steady when used as a stand. I often use sidecar with my iPad to extend the screen of my MacBook, and this case pairs great with that. The material feels great in the hands too. My original case (shown in the pictures) stood the test of time well. There is no part of it that has degraded or come apart in any way. All in all, I wouldn’t hesitate even for a moment to recommend this case to anyone looking for a practical and economical way to protect their iPad, while preserving the beauty of it’s design.

Nice case with a slight design flaw
New Review: Recently bought another ESR iPad case for a 13" M4 iPad Pro. (Amazon only allows me to edit previous reviews, so I kept that original one further below from a few years ago). I’ve found there's a small design flaw when attaching the Apple Pencil. Because of the newer iPads being so thin, the Apple Pencil bulges a bit more than previous iPads. This in turn will (sometimes) cause the ESR cover not to close properly and activate the Lock/Unlock function. Without the Pencil it works fine. If the front cover closes, you can sort of peek a little by slightly lifting the cover and realize the iPad screen never went to sleep with the Pencil attached. The workaround is to Lock the iPad screen before closing the cover ONLY when the Pencil is attached. Is this a dealbreaker? Considering how much Apple charges for theirs, I'd say no. But it is a pesky flaw that can be fixed is the case was about a millimeter shorter, allowing for the Pencil to be seated without interference. That all said, I generally like this case. It looks I and adds some weight which I think is a good thing for stability, though it defeats the purpose of a light iPad. Finally. A note about some of the reviews here. The magnet arrangement on the M4 and M5 are different than the previous generations. So weak magnets or such (may) be due to ESR shipping a previous generation case? I have no idea, but it’s a guess. Also. Some say that the case won’t be stable when folded, are you sure you’re folding it right? I’ve seen people folding the “triangle” in the wrong direction over the years and it of course is unstable. Fold inward! Previous review from a different case years ago: All in all I like this slim case. While it doesn’t offer really any protection like some hard case, it does provide a bit more than apples standard folio at a third of the price. The pencil is covered with it’s own flap pretty much guaranteeing you won’t lose it in transit. That said, my only complaint is that it’s awkward removing the iPad from the case, something I do often to reduce bulk. Opening the flap for the pencil is always an adventure using one’s fingernails. If the flap had a small loose piece of fabric affixed to it, one could use that to open the flap. But that would take away the sleek look of the case. The iPad is somewhat similar in this regard. The magnets are solid which I appreciate but it also makes for an awkward frequent removal. I suspect most will simply keep it in the case most of the time. All in all. A good case and purchased with a very slight discount from a YouTube affiliate link.

Quality slim folio case for 25% of Apple Smart Folio price
I just received my iPad Pro 13" (M4) ESR Rebound case yesterday (8/30/24) so I do not have a lot of time with it yet but it is a well made, quality case at a good price. I never heard of ESR before but an online rating I saw picked the ESR Shift case as the top pick with this as the budget friendly pick. This case is not a 'shockproof', drop from the balcony case. It is a folio cover that is light weight and will protect the iPad screen (when closed) and the back of the iPad case from dirt and scratches when set down on the variety of surfaces we place our iPads on. I already own the Apple Magic Keyboard case, which is great for making the iPad into a laptop but it is HEAVY (661g). The whole purpose of the iPad (to me) is a light weight laptop substitute. The Magic Keyboard case weighs more than the iPad itself. This ESR folio weighs 351g and is my secondary option for when I do not want the keyboard, want to use the Apple Pencil or just want to travel light. My only critique is that magnets are strong, but I wish they were a little stronger. If the folio is open and you shake it firmly (holding only the case and not the iPad), it could shake loose from the magnets. This may be true of the Apple Smart Folio or any other case. I have not tested them all. One of the features that I especially like is the magnetic flap that covers the Apple Pencil when magnetically connected to the iPad. It is a little added security and folds over and connects to the case back when not needed, so it is not in the way. Overall, the ESR Rebound is a great option if not looking for a keyboard or industrial protection.

Better Than Smart Folio :)
This case is a no brainer. I saved $75 USD on this awesome well thought out iPad case. Apple wants $100 for virtually the same case without Apple Pencil protection. The materials are durable. The magnets are strong. ESR does it again. I spent the high dollar price on the original Magic Keyboard case for my M5 iPad Pro 13. But $100 without or $25 for the Smart Folio with extra pencil protection can’t be beat IMO. Also very light. I highly recommend this case to protect your precious investment.

Absolutely perfect, minimalist, screen protection only folio
I mostly use a Magic Keyboard case, but also wanted a folio case for when I am traveling with a MacBook and mostly just using my iPad for reading, notes, sidecar or Logic Remote. This is what I did with my old iPad Pro too, but the folio case I had to back then was nowhere near as nice as this one. I love that the case magnetically attaches and is so easy to remove, and requires no stress be put on the (insanely thin) tablet in order to do so - not something I can say for all cases! The magnetic strength seems high enough that I won’t worry about it. I just can’t overstate how nice it is to just pull this case off quickly and slap my tablet onto the Magic Keyboard case or magnetic mount that I also use with my iPad. I also like the material, which has more of a soft touch silicone feel instead of that horrible imitation leather that a lot use, it feels like it could be an official accessory, and like it will clean up good (which is good, because I got the white!). I’ll also mention here that the thing is very light and thin, and allows the iPad to still maintain its sleek, slender appeal and not take up much room in your bags. The little magnetic flap is surprisingly effective at keeping the cover closed and the pencil secured in charging position along the edge of the tablet. I also like how well it keeps the cover folder behind the iPad when it’s open - unlike other folio cases I’ve used, I can forget that it’s there, instead of constantly fumbling the flappy back edges in my hands while reading. Of course, the big trade off of minimalism with any kind of case is that the protection is limited. In this case, you get zero corner drop protection, and you’ll also need to be case of things scratching the exposed edges in your bag. Also, the case being so thin and light means that it’s not really anything that’s substantial enough help protect the iPad from being bent (from being sat on, or something crushing it in a bag). None of these things are a big concern for me though, based on my usage and how I transport it.

Great Case for a Great Value
I’ve had this case for a few days now and I’m definitely impressed by the quality. I purchased the brilliant white case and it arrived 2 days later. The product packaging was slightly ripped where I open it up, but the product inside was completely fine. In short, if you are looking to get a clean, durable, and simplistic case for your iPad, you should definitely go with this one. Below, I put a few more details on what I feel are the key aspects of the case Magnetic: The case magnetizes to the back of the iPad and it holds securely, just like the photo of it being held by the front flap. It’s super easy to take on and off as well. Also, the flap that holds the pencil covers it completely and can fold back to stick to the case so you don’t have it flopping around on the side when using the iPad. Durability: At first I was a little worried that the case would be easily scratched, but I’m happy to be wrong. I tried pressing and running my fingernail across it (with a fair bit of pressure too) and it doesn’t leave any impressions or markings at all. (again, I bought the white case, so the black may leave a mark, but no impression). Texture: The case feels good when holding it and doesn’t slip out of my hands which is great. It has a faux leather sort of texture which looks and feels very clean. Overall, I’m super impressed by it and I’m glad I made this purchase. I’ve been needing a case for a while and I couldn’t have asked for anything better!
