Another fine Sony product
Great sound, easy to set up. Bought on sale. saved over $100. Worth it for the sale price, when it's over $200 you might consider a similar product from other companies. Sound bubble this creates is an engineering marvel. I am a long-time Sony fan, I have never been disappointed in the quality of their products. I view Sony like apple; a little expensive but generally they work well and last a long time. Excellent battery time and easy to charge. Comfortable fit. Good for home use, but not for airplane travel but I have a pair of Sony noise cancelling headphones. Bluetooth range is excellent. I use for music, enjoy these far better than my air buds. I know they are good when my daughter want to "borrow" them (translated, "Can I have them?").

WOW! JUST WOW!
I have no idea why no one is reviewing these. These things are amazing! At least I think so, the sound quality is on par with any other high end Sony sound product. And these are awesome if you live in a household like mine. I live in a small house, with a 13yr old Grandson who sits at his computer with headphones all the time, and a wife who really isn't into big theater sound when watching movies, and most of the time I want to watch a movie when she doesn't. So, until I got these speakers, I had to resort to using headphones of some sort or another. Unfortunately, or fortunately depending on how you look at it, I couldn't hear my wife when using my headphones, and nine times out of ten as soon as I started watching a movie, she would want to talk to me. But with these speakers I can have it all!! I can have my big theater sound without bothering anyone else in my house, AND I can have a conversation with my wife at the same time! Another awesome thing about these speakers is that I can wear them at work. My company does not allow us to wear headphones or earbuds while working for safety reasons, but it's perfectly ok for me to listen to a Bluetooth speaker. This Bluetooth speaker sits on my shoulders!! Yes, they are way pricey, but they are built with Sony quality, sound awesome, and for me, worth their weight in gold for so many reasons! Now these things will not be suited for traveling using public transit, you're going to annoy others sitting right next to you because they can hear things that you're listening to, it's just at a lower volume than what you're actually hearing. But that's why you use headphones or earbuds. These are not for travel; these are for big personal theater quality sound without the need of wearing headphones or earbuds. There is what I would consider a very small problem with them. If you move around a lot while wearing them, such as cleaning house, etc. They have a tendency to shift around on your neck, but if you're sitting still watching a movie, they feel very comfortable. I would like to see Sony come out with some sort of clip to hold them together at the front, or maybe a stronger band in the back that will hug your neck a little more.

BEST way to listen to audio!
The new Sony Theater U is literally one of the single best products that Sony has ever brought to market. They are incredibly comfortable and they have wonderful sound quality. And, the best part is that since nothing goes on or in your years you never experience any type of ear fatigue, even if you use them all day long. And, with 12-hours of battery life on a single charge, you pretty much can. I probably own around a dozen sets of headphones but after buying the Theater U, I don't think I'll really ever have much reason to use any of them ever again. The Theater U with its Bluetooth capabilities are easily now my favorite way to listen to music. Without question, one of the coolest audio products I have ever owned. My advice is to get them. Once you try them you will wonder how you ever got along without them. Yeah, they really are THAT good!

Only 1 TV viewer (the Sony headphone wearer) can watch the connected TV while these are turned on.
Very nice product! Easy set up, nice sound quality. What I hadn't realized is that when this set of personal "headphones" is turned on, it turns off the TV sound for everyone else in the room. I feel like that's a functionality that a company like Sony should have foreseen and allowed for. And, then again, perhaps Sony DID take that multiple person TV viewership into consideration and chose to intentionally leave that functionality out. Thus, forcing all family members/friends watching any show on 1 certain TV to need their own personal set of Sony headphones in order to watch any show together on that particular TV. I bought these to hopefully enhance my almost 90-year old mother's ability to hear shows without her blowing me out of the house from the volume. However, I found that didn't solve that problem at all. I did choose to keep them for my own use to improve TV sound one of my Sony TVs in another room entirely. However, I can still hear when she's using the living room TV from across the house into my bedroom WHILE I'm using these "headphones". Still, they're nice. They just didn't address the issue I purchased them for at all, unfortunately.

Title: Best Personal Theater Sound I’ve Ever Used
These are hands down some of the best-sounding speakers you will ever own — especially for personal viewing. You put them around your neck and it literally feels like you’re watching a movie inside a movie theater. The surround sound effect is incredible, and the audio feels immersive without bothering anyone else in the room. I’ve pulled the trigger on these twice, both times buying them used, and they’ve been one of the best tech investments I’ve made. For the price, nothing else comes close to this experience. Watching movies like Blade Runner — either the original or the newer one — really shows what these speakers can do. The synth-heavy soundtracks shine, dialogue is crystal clear, and the surround effects are impressive for something this compact. This is modern technology done right. Sony absolutely nailed it with these. They’re so good that I ended up buying two. Highly recommended.

Remarkable Sound Quality
OK, this is somewhat of a disclaimer, but I am a Sony fan, particularly their BRAVIA line. So I wanted to really like this - and I absolutely love it. I’m fortunate to have a premium Sony sound system in my house. And I wanted to have a nice speaker for travel, which I do very frequently for work. I of course use both headsets and earbuds for connecting to my iPad, but there are times when I don’t want to be as removed from what’s going on around me, like in a hotel room. I have used a really nice speaker in hotels, but in order to get a really nice sound quality I have to turn it up pretty loud - and I seriously don’t want to bother people in neighboring rooms. And, when laying on the bed, for example, that speaker doesn’t work really well - where do you put it? Many times there are knocks on the door or the phone rings and headphones are too removed. This is a fantastic compromise. It allows you to be fully immersed in the sound, while not removing you from what’s happening. The sound quality, as I put in the title of this review, is truly remarkable. I have no idea how they did it, of course, but the sound is almost very nearly what headsets allow. I’m very impressed. The battery lasts a very long time - I do recharge it after use, so I’m not sure how long it lasts, but I do know it’s several hours. NOTE: As described in Sony’s information, this IS NOT for use everywhere. It is NOT for use on a plane, it is NOT for use in the gym. Or anywhere that others would hear. (I have not tried it paired with another BRAVIA U.). But it gives the wearer fully immersive sound and does not remove you from surroundings. If this compromise between a speaker and headsets fits your needs, you cannot go wrong with this speaker. I more than highly recommend.

Did not function as advertised, does nothing for privacy
There is almost no audio privacy provided by this device at all, and that's wild considering that's what it's made for, and the price point. If you want to listen to music, watch videos or movies, listen to audiobooks, or play games somewhat privately, it does not work for that. At a distance of 30 feet / 10 meters, everything I was listening to, even on medium volume could be heard clearly enough to make out every word. (For reference, this was the distance between two of the farthest walls in a well-furnished medium-sized apartment.) At a distance of 10 feet / 3 meters (like sharing a normal sized room with someone), there was no volume low enough to provide a decent listening experience while also providing any privacy. What DO these work for? If you don't like wearing earbuds, and don't like wearing headsets, but also don't want people in other rooms to hear your sound system, they work for that. They can provide high quality sound that doesn't really make it through walls.

Dont buy if you have trouble hearing this will not get very loud.
These are comfortable and has good quality and surround but the volume just don't get loud enough. I've connected it through Bluetooth and through Bravia. The Bravia connection is the better option for surround audio. If the volume could go louder this would be a great product.
