Interesting review of techniques.
A rather technical and dry review of the various techniques of landscape analysis. Although there are a variety of case studies, these concentrate rather too much (for my taste) on the West Country. The few photographs are mostly poor in quality (perhaps a problem in reproduction), and it is difficult to follow the written interpretation of them. The maps and colour plates (land use analysis etc.) are high quality but many are reproduced at too small a scale. A larger format such as A4 would have helped in this regard, or a few more pages added so that illustrations, maps and figures could occupy more space (one third of a page instead of one sixth, for example). Such criticisms are niggling rather than damming - I did find the book useful and interesting - but it could have been better.
