Durable, Comfortable, and Perfect for Multi-Day Trips
Durable, Comfortable, and Perfect for Multi-Day Trips I’ve been using the Osprey Rook 65 regularly for around a year on multi-day hiking and wild camping trips, and it has proven to be one of the most dependable pieces of gear I own. I typically carry a full overnight or multi-day setup, including a Vango Orion 200 tent, sleeping bag, Flextail Zero sleeping mat, spare clothing layers, Trangia 25 cooking gear, and food. The Rook 65 fits all of this while still allowing good organisation and accessibility. The storage is good, and packing is easy enough. Comfort is easily the standout feature. Even when the pack is fully loaded, the weight distribution is excellent. The adjustable suspension system allows you to dial in a secure and personalised fit, which makes a huge difference on longer hikes. The ventilated back panel also provides noticeable airflow and helps reduce heat build-up during extended use. Over the past year, I’ve used this pack across mixed terrain and varying weather conditions, including wet and muddy trails. The durability has been excellent. The fabric, stitching, straps, and zips all still feel strong and reliable with no signs of wear or failure. Pros: • Extremely comfortable even when fully loaded • Excellent weight distribution and adjustable fit • Plenty of space for multi-day gear • Durable materials and solid build quality • Well-designed storage and organisation Cons: • May be larger than needed for short overnight trips but I’d rather have room left over In the pack than trying to squeeze gear into a smaller pack. Who This Pack Is Best For: This pack is ideal for beginner to intermediate backpackers, wild campers, or anyone looking for a reliable and comfortable multi-day hiking pack without stepping into premium price ranges. Overall: After a full year of consistent use, I genuinely struggle to fault this backpack. It has been comfortable, practical, and extremely dependable on every trip. If you’re looking for a well-built pack for multi-day hiking or camping, the Osprey Rook 65 is an excellent choice and one I would happily recommend.

Great for hiking/camping
Good quality product as always from osprey. Love the 2 compartments, making it easy to separate camping equipment and clothing. Easy to adjust to customise the fit and makes heavy loads feel much lighter thanks to its hip belt and unique yoke set up. Delivered quickly and am very pleased with my purchase.

Great value pack
I wish I could 6 star it. My most comfortable backpack yet and Osprey are tanks, incredibly durable materials and stitching. I can fit all my gear with ease and it's a joy to have it close on my back compared to my older pack. Osprey aren't on the cheap side, but they last soo many years and their warranty is for life, absolutely worth the investment. It's a high quality product and it's lovely to see the attention they put in it to make it this cheap while still having top functionality.

Light, easily adjustable, carries load easily
The rucksack is light, easly adjustable for your back size. Hip belt fits well on the hips and makes carrying easy. Supplied waterproof cover works (ScottishAautum downpours). Easy carries load over long days hiking. Great value for money and a great rucksack.

Excellent quality.
Why did you choose this product over others?: I plan to walk part of the Devon coast path in a few weeks and bought this sack because my old one is looking a bit tired at over 46 years old! I have only used it once for a weekend away on the East Coast. It is so comfy and easy to carry. Very good quality and well made with enough space to pack everything I need to take with me.

Robust capacious rucksack
Good quality robust rucksack which I use when supervising/assessing DofE expedition groups. Pockets on the waist belt are particularly valuable for pens/compass/accessories.

Good beginner/intermediate pack but has some niggles
This is a good beginner to intermediate backpack. It has some great features but for me it's missing some really basic ones. 1. It doesn't have an under lid pocket. It doesn't sound like much but those pockets are great for storing things you need handy but don't use often. Like car keys, wallet and 1st aid kit. 2. It doesn't have a walking pole attachment. It has elasticated pockets on the side that work but the poles can ride forward enough to poke me on the head when I look up, which can be a lot of you're climbing. 3. By far the worst thing is the squeaking. On my 2nd walk it rained and by the time I had finished the frame squeaked on every step. I of course forgot about it when I got home and the next walk it drove me bonkers for 6 hours. I pulled the whole frame out and found the squeak where the frame joins with a plastic connector at the bottom. I put vaseline there and it's been ok since but that should be sorted during manufacturing. Otherwise this is a great pack. I nearly said budget pack but its actually pretty expensive. I like the gear loops on the outside, the large top pocket, the level of adjustment points, and the large hip pockets. Importantly, it's really really comfortable and all of the straps really help to transfer the weight efficiently. The breathable back rest really works to keep you cool but it does put the centre of gravity a bit further from your body. It has a good sized main compartment with good access top and bottom. The rain cover is neat and has good coverage. This would be really good as a hire pack or borrow pack due to it's adjustability. Overall, I'm ok with this one What I've realised is that there isn't really a perfect pack that has all the features I want. Osprey certainly don't have it, and I returned a few of their more expensive ones.

Todo bien, muy espaciosa, y puedes comprimir las cosas dentro. Solo tal vez revisar bien el acomdo para usarla, no ajustar de más.

Didn’t realize that this was the Extended Fit model for waists up to 71”!!! As I have a 32” waist, it did not fit clearly but was exactly what I expected from an Osprey pack. Returned and purchased the regular size. If you are on the larger size, this pack has been tailor made for you and you will not regret the purchase!
