Buchanan Rides Alone (1958) / Comanche Station (1960) - Region Free PAL Double-DVD

INDICATOR have done a splendid job with this BluRay. Excellent picture 16.9 ratio, crisp picture, good colour and subtitles. Plenty of extras listed here, but not seen by me except for the wonderful theatrical trailer. Personally I enjoy this probably more than any of the other Boetticher/Scott westerns ( and I think they are all great). Here Scott actually smiles and has some pithy one-liners. There is a good plot, plenty of action and a great support cast including 4 unbilled faces that western fans will recognise - Don Harvey, Roy Jenson, Terry Frost and Al Wyatt (Riley hill is there on the "jury" but I didn't recognise him). L.Q Jones has a lovely part, and Peter whitney sweats and runs a lot. Great western fun. Thoroughly recomended. (Shame there is no Karen Steele or Nancy Gates!! AND...Just a very personal note - As in so many westerns, and this is no exception...Who on earth would want to live in such a one horse run down town with just a few ramshackle buildings??? If only Amazon had a "comments" button!)

Above average westerns with believable stories and great action. Buchanan rides alone is good but Commanche station shows director Budd Boetticher at his very best getting great performances from his actors, with a great story that has a final twist.

Well worth having. The colour in each film is very sharp indeed. 'Comanche Station' is the better film of the two.
