Review of Rudbre Sliding Door Lock: A Disappointing Experience
The media could not be loaded. Review of Rudbre Sliding Door Lock: A Disappointing ExperienceThe Rudbre sliding door lock was recommended to me as a high-tech, reliable solution for securing my home. Unfortunately, my experience with this product has been nothing short of frustrating due to a series of glaring issues.First and foremost, the strike lock and latch arrived broken, rendering the product defective from the outset. This was a significant red flag and raised immediate concerns about the product’s quality control standards. A lock’s primary purpose is to secure a door, and with a broken latch, it fails to fulfill its most basic function. It’s perplexing that a product advertised as durable and dependable could arrive in such a poor condition.Another critical issue is the lock’s failure to respond to digital keys and the associated mobile app. The ability to control the lock remotely or via digital keys was one of the primary reasons I chose this model. However, after following all setup instructions meticulously, the device simply refused to function as intended. The app consistently failed to sync with the lock, leaving me with no way to utilize the digital features that are supposed to be this product’s selling point. Resetting the system, reinstalling the app, and even attempting to reconfigure the lock multiple times yielded no improvements. This failure not only rendered the lock’s high-tech features useless but also highlighted a lack of customer support from Rudbre. When I reached out for assistance, I was met with long wait times and unhelpful responses. The representatives seemed unaware of the lock’s technical issues, suggesting generic troubleshooting steps that I had already attempted. The lack of timely and effective support made an already disappointing experience even worse.Aside from the functional flaws, the physical design of the lock also leaves much to be desired. While the sleek and modern aesthetic is visually appealing, the materials feel surprisingly cheap for a product in this price range. The broken strike lock and latch only reinforce the impression that this lock may not stand the test of time, even if it were functioning correctly. In its current state, the Rudbre sliding door lock is effectively unusable. Without a functioning latch, it offers no security. Without responsive digital keys or app compatibility, it offers no convenience. This combination of mechanical and technical failures makes it hard to justify the cost or recommend this product to others. While I understand that manufacturing defects and software bugs can happen, the sheer number of issues I encountered with this lock is unacceptable. Quality control, software reliability, and customer service are crucial aspects of any product, particularly one designed for home security, and Rudbre has failed on all fronts. In conclusion, I cannot recommend the Rudbre sliding door lock. Its broken latch, unresponsive digital functionality, and poor customer service make it a regrettable purchase. If you are in the market for a smart lock, I suggest exploring other brands that prioritize reliability and customer satisfaction. For now, this product does not deliver on its promises and is best avoided.

Nightmare is an understatement
The media could not be loaded. I just ordered my 3rd lock because the first two orders both had faulty parts that did not work. If I hasn’t already cut major holes in my brand new slider I would have returned this and ran as far away as possible. I’ve spent 6+ hours on a project that should have taken an hour. BE WARNED.1st but - Video is first purchase with a faulty latching mechanism.2nd - the exterior handle lates closed but won’t latch down to open.

Eventually works
I have ordered several of this kind of products. This one eventually works. Here are the issues I ran into :1. The metal plate that the mortise locks into, it doesn't fit, the 2 rectangular holes need to be taller and more far away from each other2. My glass door opens to the left, which requires a directional piece to turn to the other side. But the manual doesn't mention it and is in general written loosely.3. The manual mentions how to unlock the door but never mentions how to lock it. So problems 2 and 3 together got me stuck for more than an hour, almost wanted to return it. Fortunately, I figured them both out.A good product shouldn't let the users struggle so muchThe above issues are 2 stars minus. But the app worked well and was easy to connect with the lock. The handle is not too extruded so it fits in the narrow space between the screen door and the glass door.

It better work for a long time.
Once you cut open your door, it will never be the same! I read the reviews and thought that this couldn't possible be that difficult to install. You will cut giant holes and your door's integrity will be compromised. At a certain point, there is no going back. You either get this to fit or you replace the whole door. Good Luck.P.S. This product is sold under various names and is the same product. The quality is subpar and if the latches don't operate perfectly, it will break and you will have to disassemble the latch to "fix" it. You've been warned. The best part is that the software is user-friendly and provides many options that are easy to setup. This is why 2 stars instead of one.

DO NOT BUY THIS LOCK!!!
HORRIBLE! If I could give this zero stars I would. Worst thing we have ever bought, period! My husband spent hours trying to get it to work, it doesn’t! Contacted company said they couldn’t send a video. When you try to look them up, they’re no where to be found & no phone number for help! Just trust me, DO NOT BUY!!!

Damage your patio door at your own risk
In order to install this item you have to literally cut out an opening in your patio door to install the lock. If the remote lock does not work or breaks within a year. You will need to buy a new door or hope this company is still around to sell you the same exact lock. Best of luck to anyone willing to take the risk. I waited too long to return
