I prefer the fine grounds these mills provide. This particular one, I have dedicated to coffee. Two similar ones are used for spices. They all grind from fine to very fine, which works for my use cases. It lets me buy whole spices and coffee beans, which last longer than pre-ground and have no additives like anti-caking agents.

I got one of these years ago to use as a pepper grinder. When my handle finally broke I decided to order a new one. Works great. Love it.

The handle falls off a lot. They do look beautiful but are difficult to use and adjust. After a month of trying to incorporate them as one of my go to utensils, I just gave up & put them away. The grinding is not consistent & because of the difficulty in adjusting the tension I never knew how to set it correctly. I do love the size & look of the product but not really worth the value.

Cheaply made for the price

Let’s start with the obvious. This this is beautiful! This will make a great statement in any kitchen or on any table. The craftsmanship is meticulous and stunning. When I saw this, even though I have several grinders and mills, I had to have it. For me personally, this will be a beautiful display piece, but probably not something I will use on a daily basis. If I do use it, it will probably be for pepper or other spices and more for presentational reasons. The only reason I say this is that, as a coffee grinder, I’d like the grind to be more fine. That said, this does a wonderful job on other spices as well as coffee for people who are not as picky as me! For looks, this gets 6 out of 5 stars. For spices like pepper, 5 out of 5. For coffee, 4 out of 5. Overall, I think my official rating would be 4.5 stars… taking off a half star because of my picky coffee requirements. But that averages up to 5 stars for Amazon and, seriously, this is a great piece of equipment to own. Even if you don’t like coffee or don’t cook, this will look awesome in your kitchen. Everyone will think you know what you’re doing! :-P

This Turkish coffee/pepper mill is built to last! I’ve been in the market for a pepper grinder for a while after our previous electric one’s clear plastic reservoir broke and the button started going out along with batteries leaking acid. Research made me aware of Turkish pepper mills and their longevity, so I was excited to put this to the test. You can tell this is hand made, and has a lot of awesome character. The only downside to this mill is that the instructions tell you to “wipe”, but after wiping I found quite a bit of leftover residue from machining. I disassembled every piece except for the main grinding wheels and thoroughly cleaned with soap and water. I lubricated with a tiny bit of ballistol, but mineral oil would be a great choice if you decide to. This puts out a ton of pepper when needed, and turning the handle is so satisfying. You can adjust the grind size, but I’ve left mine on a relatively fine grind which is fragrant and powder-like. You can pre-grind pepper in the base and pour it in cooked dishes when needed. The handle only turns clockwise otherwise it will collapse at the joint, which is clever design since the grinder only works clockwise. I absolutely LOVE this grinder after cleaning it, and it has a great aesthetic. Puts out lot of pepper and will last a lifetime due to the all metal construction. Worth every penny!
