Beautiful tomahawk!
I really love that this came oiled and with a leather cover. Authentically crafted handle and blade. Solid blade edge. Balanced weight displacement. Very clean swing profile. Cuts into wood with a smooth and easy swing. Great product. Very good value for the money.

Okay for the price
This hatchet seems okay for the price. Time will tell after some hard use on the abuse it can withstand. Blade is pretty sharp, sharper than expected but the handle doesn’t seem sturdy. I could be wrong though. Only change I’d make is the ergonomics of the handle.

Very well made
I collect old style weapons, and this is a great addition to my collection. It is well made, authentic looking, and is not just for display. It functions fine as a hatchet or hammer. Good camping axe.

NICE DECORATIVE BLADE BUT THE HILT GETS A BIT NARROW WITH THE WOOD CARVING DESIGN
This arrived in a box with tape that looked liked it was years old - it had already completely yellowed. I mention this only in case you plan to give this as a gift since it looks like you had it in storage for some time. The axe itself was in a thin bubble wrap envelope freely in the box, so it was only protected somewhat. The carving on the steel blade is well done. With the quality of that etching, the carved wood hilt seems a bit overdone. The blade is sharp and does the job of splitting wood well. The carving on this wood handle gets a little narrow which is a bit concerning if you will be flinging it through the air chopping wood. Seems like it could break. Rope accents lend a good grip from a slipping standpoint, and a rope wrist strap is attached. I would recommend the carving on the handle is changed to a smooth handle to showcase the real star of this axe - the etching on the blade. The carbon steel blade is covered with and included genuine leather sheath - much better than today's standard PU fake plastic materials.

Wicked cool viking hatchet!
I've been watching the Vikings show, so I"m a bit stuck on that culture at the moment and this hatchet is the perfect thing to get for anyone who's a fan of that scene. Honestly, it's such a neat hatchet, I can't imagine anyone disliking it

Really cool axe that is also functional
I'm a leader in Boy Scouts, and let me tell you: Every Scout on the trip wanted one of these axes. It feels great in the hand, it looks awesome and it cuts wood really well. We found that it works best when used along with a hammer: Smack the axe into the firewood, and then hammer it down to finish splitting the wood. The small size also means this would be cool as a display piece or also as a personal defense weapon. This is a great gift for men!

Handle is Too Thick
The hatchet head design looks nice, and the metal looks like it’s good quality. The handle is attached cleanly and solidly to the hatchet head. The handle, which is supposedly made of ash, is way too thick and uncomfortable for actual use. I guess you need Viking hands to comfortably use this Viking hatchet. The leather handle wrapping and the strap/beard combined with large handle make the hatchet look cheesy. It looks more for costume/decoration rather than actual use (although the product page states that it’s a functional tool). The hatchet has a sharp edge, but I haven’t tested it on an actual branch because the handle is too thick for me to swing safely. The included leather sheath is ornate, but the leather does not appear to be very good in quality. I believe the hatchet head may be good, but the rest of the parts make the entire item look cheap. I will still give it three stars for the hatchet head, and because others may still find this attractive.

Very Ornate, Lots of Heft in the Hand
I got this as a gift for a friend, and I am sure that it won't disappoint. I am not quite sure whether to think of this thing as more of an ornate, for show, type of knife or if it is for actual heavy-duty use with camping, etc. It's certainly heavy-duty enough for it and has quite a bit of "heft" in the hand while also including a decorative leather handle cover and beautifully scribed design on the blade. I don't think the handle is long enough to make it a very effective axe for throwing, but for chopping and splitting wood, it will certainly work well. Pretty cool!
