Stretch Charmeuse Satin Red, Fabric by the Yard

Ordered magenta and purple fabrics and received a muted faded looking magenta pink and a deep blue purple. They are nice if that’s the color you want but are very very different than the pictures in the description.

I like the fabric a lot but it was not stretch at all.

I bought this fabric for the color, and it was nice to work with, also.

With 2% lycra/spandex I was expecting a bit more stretch to this. It performs like a woven and for that I am dissappointed. The color came exactly as described but the stretch is a problem.Is it worth it? No. Thete was hardly and give in this material.

Great color, a true eggplant purple. Very, very thin/lightweight. This would not be good for any garment that needs structure, but perfect for kids costumes. Not something I’d use for “real” clothes as it is obviously cheap polyester. You MUST finish the edges of this either by heat-sealing or applying a product like fray-check, even if you plan to serge the edges, I would either apply fray-check before cutting out the pattern pieces OR use the fine point attachment of a wood burning tool to cut out your pieces because this is not strong fabric. It is loosely woven and cheap, as you would expect from the price. This will not hold up in a seam that experiences any stress, definitely use interfacing or underlining. That said, it is perfect for a costume my 3 year old will wear a handful of times before outgrowing.

Lovely, very thin, lightweight, silky hand, faux silk satin charmeuse. The color is beautiful. The quality is good across the board. Ben Textile is an outstanding manufacturer & all of their fabrics I have purchased & sewn over the years are top quality! I plan to make a set of luxury pjs & robe for winter.

This definitely had signs of being a returned item.

The fabric is really pretty, but it is not a stretch fabric. Don't be fooled.
