Highly Impressive First Impression
I am an 80-year-old widower in a comfortable senior community. The apartment was furnished with a smallish refrigerator/freezer. Since I rely heavily on my personal chef, Marie C and her associates, freezer space has been at a premium since I moved here 2 1/2 years ago. I found myself missing out on very attractive sales simply due to a lack of freezer space. I had a convenient spot on the open wall in my kitchen, so I began looking for a small, well rated chest freezer to enable more convenient frozen storage. Amazon had quite a variety of 3 1/2 and 5 cu ft freezers from which to choose, and after more than enough deliberation, I settled on the Midea 3.5. The price was certainly attractive, and the reviews were good, so I ordered one. Free delivery was promised in less than a week, and Amazon even beat that. Two reps showed up on time and spotted the boxed unit where requested. The carton was completely unblemished and easy to remove from the unit with a box cutter. The freezer inside was protected on all sides by substantial Styrofoam forms. A brief instruction manual, frost scraper and warranty were in a plastic bag taped to the unit. The removable basket was also taped to the inside top to preclude damage from rattling around loose. All sides, top and the inside were in pristine condition. After removing all packaging and the few strips of transparent blue tape, I was ready to plug the unit to the wall receptacle and get the chill going. I planned to wait the prescribed couple of hours to enable the freon to settle, but I did want to locate the plug and ensure that it would reach the receptacle. Here things got a little tricky. Fortunately, in the course of my reading of prior user reviews, I learned that removing the cord from the lower rear of the unit required close examination of the closely fitted white on white enclosure to locate a small depression for use in opening the tight-fitting small door. I found the depression, found a way to quickly leverage the door open and released the plug and cord of sufficient length. I closed the door, easily moved the unit the prescribed 6 in. from the wall and after the few hours wait, plugged it in and listened for startup. I had read that the unit was quiet, but this thing is REALLY quiet. It was so quiet and vibration free that I wasn't certain it was running. After a couple of hours unattended, I returned, lifted the lid and looked at the thermometer I had hung from the removable basket. To my great delight, it already read near zero degrees F. Since that time a couple of days ago, I have ordered some stackable wire baskets to make locating and handling frozen items more convenient and placed a dozen or so initial items in the freezer, still in their plastic grocery store bags pending delivery of the new baskets. Once I get everything together and loaded and have some period to assess longer term satisfaction, I will update this review. Until then, I am completely satisfied with my utterly silent new white chest freezer.

More than happy with my purchase!
This little beauty arrived today and I was scared that it was going to have some damage cosmetically, but it didnโt and UPS delivered it two days early. I couldnโt be more pleased with my purchase. Sheโs humming now and cooling down quickly since Iโve plugged it in.Iโm surprised at how big 3.5 cubic feet really is, and for my needs as a single individual, itโs plenty of storage space. I think that you too, will find this freezer more than ample for your needs as a single person, or perhaps two people.Thank you Midea for making such a fine product at a reasonable priceโฆ Iโm a very happy camper!

Exactly what I wanted
I am quite pleased with this purchase, as I needed an an extra small freezer to fit my extra meat, chicken and vegetables.I was ar first skeptical even after reading the many positive reviews..one question kept bugging my mind, could it be the right freezer for my needsI wanted something that is small in size and not to take so much space, and efficient , and as a no brainer not to spend quite a bit of money..the rest is history..I have ordered this freezer, and few months after owning it it didnt disappoint.First, it is quite quite efficient, is also energy efficient and got the item foods frozen solid as advertised . Kept items at the right freezing temperature..Second, its size is a plus for someone who is limited in the space .Third, easy to operate, setup, and transfer. So far, I am glad that I choose this freezer, and so far had done for me what I exactly expected.Photos showed items I had in the freezer, frozen solid !I highly recommend for anyone who is looking for a good performing freezer, small size and easy on the cost.

Great little investment! For a great price.
I am so glad I have invested in this small size deep freezer. It arrived very well despite the comments I have read about a few lil damages here and there. Yet mine came well packaged and delivered pretty fast.I was trying to decide on a bigger one or stay small plus my refrigerator was having issues so I decided on a small one. The unboxing made it seem bigger or wider, and bringing it into the house was very easy. My daughter and I got it in not to heavy at all. Plug it up was it got cool fast within 30 seconds it was getting super cold. There is a knob on the bottom where you can control how high or low you want the freezer I keep mine right in the middle. The higher it goes I find you get a little snow build up (which it comes with a little hand scraper to remove the frost.) At the very bottom it has a plug where u can open it when your defrosting it...energy efficiency will I wouldn't know I dont pay for the electric. Its very deep when I am putting food in there I feel like I'm going to fall in lol and I'm 5'4...the inside is narrow from the floor up to the second level but once you stock your food in (I lay mine flat side by side also I use freezer seal bags. So I get even more space. It hold ALOT I had mine pack to the brim when my refrigerator was being repaired.) Fits in a nice corner my is in my walkway it's so small in size people dont even notice it and ask where it is. I am planning on getting another one to go side by side. The other will be just for my meats and fish. Yes your right I should have brought a larger one but doing the measurements it wouldn't fit right. But it's a great investment do it go ahead now.....what are you going for click that buy button....JUST DO IT!

Great freezer - bad manual...
Good freezer, though I think the instructions need to be better... It seems that when the freezer is set to MAX, there is some kind of quick-freeze setting that is not mentioned in the manual. With my freezer, I set the temperature to MAX on the initial use, because it is hot out here in the desert, even in the middle of winter. The freezer refused to go below 10 degrees with about 4 gallons of water inside. In fact, it would go down to 10, then drift back up to 20, before going back to 10.I moved the freezer, thinking it was not getting enough airflow, and it did the same thing, after testing for two days, I shut it off. The next day, I turned it back on, but only set it to medium. With a few hours, it was at 0 degrees, and by the next day it was below zero.I think the MAX setting must runt the compressor constantly, then cycle the compressor off after a while to avoid overheating it, while the lower settings can turn the compressor on and off at will.Again, this was not mentioned in the manual, but another brand of freezer I have has a similar setting, so I should have known. (Should be stated in the manual though.)I did let the freezer stand for over 24 hours before using it to avoid problems from shipping, though the manual only recommends 2 hours. That seems insufficient, and I would recommend at least 24. Also, the manual states that "too much food" can cause the freezer to run inefficiently. Yes, if packed too tight to allow airflow, i think this is true, but the fuller a freezer is, the better it operates in my understanding. Later it warns against adding too much warm food at a time, which is a separate case.In any case, the manual could use some serious improvement, but the freeze itself works great..

Has held up over time. Customer service was great.
I bought this chest freezer back in 2017. I fish often and wanted something separate from my other freezers to store my catches. This was the perfect size, and I liked that it was relatively inexpensive, minimalistic from a design/features standpoint and very user friendly (read: foolproof).Since I bought it, I've moved twice, had this in storage for one long stretch and I have moved it a couple of times in my current house. It has now been in my garage for the better part of 4 years, and it has really been excellent.I have had no issues or concerns with it, and the fact that it handles the crazy fluctuations in temperature in my garage is awesome. The high heat and humidity over the past couple of weeks have caused it to build up some frost, so I'm going to go ahead and defrost it this week and give it a reset. I haven't done that in years so probably overdue.I did notice that the door gasket was a bit discolored and it wasn't coming off when I went to clean it. I called Midea and was able to have them ship me out a replacement relatively cheaply. The call to them took about 5 minutes and they said I should have it within two days...so that's a customer service win in my book. I had no issues paying for it because the old gasket isn't exactly broken and I'm well outside any warranty period.I don't usually come back to products this many years later and write reviews, but the fact that I still have it and I'm still using it should say something. At this price point, I think it's hard to beat the value here. It does what a freezer should without you needing to do much with it. Would highly recommend and would purchase again if needed.

So Quiet, I thought it was Defective!
I have had this freezer now for about 6 weeks, and I'll tell you what. I LOVE IT!Yes, when I first got it, I noticed a small dent on the front. Not a deal breaker. When I plugged it in, I was very disappointed as nothing happened. No sounds at all. I'm thinking I got a DUD! Now, the only thing running through my head was how I going to send this darn thing back! After about 5 minutes, I did notice the bottom getting cold, so I let it run. After 45 minutes, my thermometer showed -10 F. I reduced the knob to about 3/4, and it's been keeping steady at -10 F since. This thing runs so quietly, you'd be hard pressed to know its even on! Best yet, no difference in my electric bill. I don't know why I did not buy one of these things long ago. I hesitated buying the 3.5 Cu, because I thought it would be too small. Boy, was I wrong! If you have a refrigerator with a top freezer (like me), this chest freezer has to be at least 3-times the volume! Only my wife and I, and I have yet to fill this thing to the top! Yet, we always seem to have plenty of food in the house. This thing is great for freezing several loaves of bread, which would be impossible in my small freezer. Bread takes up a lot of room! I really feel this freezer would suffice for families of 4 or less. I enjoy having this freezer, I found it a great value, and am glad I bought it.

Midea 3.5 freezer
Read reviews and did some research and decided to give the Midea 3.5 cu ft freezer. I had an up right freezer full size but needed the extra room. Iโve had it know 2 months and all is great! Received the box and it was a little bang up! I was very concerned that it would be dented. But with luck, it was free of any dents or damage. Yay! For 3.5 cu ft, itโs very roomy. I took it out of the box, took the cord out of the compartment it was in and plugged it in. Turned it to the setting I wanted, and waited to see how it would do. Within 30 minutes or so it was nice and cool inside. Itโs very quiet, I place my hand on the top to feel itโs cool to be sure itโs still running. Itโs the perfect size I was looking for. It comes with a basket and has a built in shelf on the right side, which I love. I went with this freezer also because I have a Midea dishwasher, which I absolutely love! Very pleased with this purchase!

Dented but perfect size
This is a great lightweight and easy to move around freezer. It did come with a dent so hoping it wonโt interfere with working properly.
