Squier whats not to like.
I have owned a Squier Strat for about 38yrs, learned on it, gigged on it, recorded with it, and its still going strong, so when I decided time to get a telecaster, tried some Fender and Squier in store but nothing impressed, neck to thick, sound too weak, just felt wrong, then I saw these ! at this price whats to lose ? worst case , return it and carry on looking. Well it arrived, unboxed, examined and tested, here are the pro's and cons. PRO'S:- 1. Very cheap, in other guitars a con. 2. Light weight, thin body so no shoulder ache. 3. SATIN finish to body and neck so no sticky poly when warm. 4. Machine heads tune nicely. 5. Holds tuning once strings changed (as any guitarist does on a new guitar) and stretched. 6. mine arrived intonated and set up sweet. pickups are fine for purpose , ceramics, may change later but no rush. 7. Playability is good enough that I wouldnt think twice over gigging and ideal for learner. 8 . quality and build are above its price point. 9. tuners and saddles are unbranded but work. CONS :- 1. replacement scratch boards not available ( I wanted a black plate on my black guitar) . 2. saddles and tuners unbranded, may swap for fender ones down the line. Yes I know if branded tuners are important Ineed to buy a Fender tele , but with fenders starting at £700 + and the chancellor taxing more and more, I think spending £120 for this, plus £120 for fender tuners and Saddles resulting in a great guitar equal to a basic £700 fender tele for a third the price is a no brainer, but even un tweeked this is a beauty.

Pretty Good Beginner Guitar
The media could not be loaded. I've been playing guitar for forty odd years and I have seen some awful entry level guitars in that time. This isn't one of them. Here's what I think of it, based on the guitar that I received:- It's pretty well set up and nice to play. There are a few small tweaks to be made but quite a lot of attention has been paid to it before it left the factory. The action is decent, intonation good enough, neck is straight and the frets don't have any sharp edges to them. Once tuned up, it's nice to play. Don't expect it to be in tune, guitars NEVER arrive in tune. Buy an easy to use clip on tuner for a fiver if you're an absolute beginner.- It looks good. I like the satin finish and the laurel fingerboard. It looks like a guitar from a higher price point (in my opinion)- The strings are OK. I'll be changing them but they're absolutley fine as a starter set.- It stays in tune reasonably well. Once tuned up I gave the strings a good old bend and it's staying in tune better than I would expect from a cheaper guitar. It shows that the strings, tuners and nut must be doing a good enough job.- It has a reassuringly decent weight to it. It isn't heavy but, more importantly, it doesn't feel like it's made out of balsa wood.- It's OK when plugged in to an amp. Everying works as it should. Volume and tone controls are fine, as is the pickup selctor switch. There are no crackles or buzzes from anywhere. The sound however is a little dull, and lacks the usual bite of a Telecaster, so I had to turn the treble control on the amp up a bit to get the sound I wanted. You're not going to blow people away on stage with it but it's a BEGINNER'S GUITAR and It's perfectly adequate for using through a small amp at home and maybe at band rehearsals. That's it from me. I would give it 4.5 stars if half stars were available (lose half a star for the slightly dull sound) but on the whole I think it's great guitar to learn on. Some entry level guitars are so bad that they actually hinder progress. This gets you off to a good start, at a very reasonable price.I bought it because I had heard that they were pretty good and I wanted to try one out. Now that I have it, and I'm happy with the way it plays, I'm going to change a few things around so it's gig-worthy. Based on the guitar I received however I wouldn't hesitate to recommend one of these, as it is, to a beginner.

Excellent
Great value tele at a budget price. Perfect for beginners to mid-range experienced players. Was good to go out the box, after tuning obviously. Neck/frets comfortable to play.Quite lightweight. Overall sound quality is OK - the pickups were not as punchy as I expected for a telecaster, and I ended up replacing/upgrading them to Alnico 5's, which made an instant improvement. Upon swapping the pickups I noticed that the neck pickup was not wired properly, and was not in fact working (hence the lack of punch).Overall I am very pleased with the purchase.

Great entry level guitar, get new strings
Purchased the red telecaster as I’ve never owned one, I like the satin/matt dark red. I recommend changing the strings as soon as possible, the ones with it are rubbish, thought I needed to do lots of adjustments but all the problems went away with new strings. The bridge saddle screws keep coming loose, I think if you buy this you’ll have to do minor upgrades, which increases the cost of the instrument, (update) changed out the pickups to alnico 5’s big difference fro the stock ceramics

Nice guitar
I’ve owned quite a few guitars in my time, budget and expensive premium guitars, I was quite surprised at the quality of this little gem, sounds good, plays well, frets a little scratchy at first but for a little over £100 u can’t go wrong.

Value for money.
I'm surprised by the quality of this guitar, how they make money on this boggles the mind. Good fit and finish and the action is fine, it sounds better than my strat version from the same line. For the price you can't go wrong, fantastic.

Great guitar, value for money
Unfortunately the guitar arrived damaged inside the box, but the box packaging was undamaged . There is scuffing on the paintwork on the left side of the body, the guitar should have been returned. But my son decided to keep it.
