Adding this edger to my Ego collection has been a great move. Since I already have several batteries from other tools, I opted for the tool only version. One of the best things about this ecosystem is that any of the batteries work with any tool, which saved me some money here. I use this with the multi head system, and it is very easy to swap it out for my hedge trimmer or pole saw. Performance: I am a novice at lawn maintenance, but this tool made quick work of edges that hadn't been touched in over six months. It's powerful enough to rip through lots of excess grass and is quite sensitive to the throttle with how strong it spins. Because I had skipped an entire season of edging, the first pass was quite laborious and a bit of a workout. It does get heavy over time and will tax your body more than pushing a lawn mower would, but it is definitely doable. The second time I used it was much easier and faster without all that excess grass in the way. Functionality: the edger seems to only work in one direction with the blade on the right side. I didn't see a way to switch it to the left, so I just walk it down the line and then back up. It leaves the lawn looking very clean and crisp. It has already paid for itself now that I don't have to pay contractors to do it for me. I also like the edger blade is metal and doesn't have to be replaced by a line feed.

I have a 4 cycle Husqvarna trimmer. I want an edger so I tried this. I have a large corner lot with lots of curb and sidewalk. It’s lighter, more responsive, quieter and plenty powerful. I love my Husqvarna but this is better. The battery life is better than expected. I can trim and edge 2 times easily without recharging. I will stick with my beloved Honda gas mower for now. Not sure their electric mower is as powerful and has enough battery life. If I decide to try it I will already have a battery and charger.

I've only used a gas weed eater that uses those goofy plastic fingers. It finally gave up the ghost last fall, and we just moved into a poorly maintained 6 acre property, so I ordered this with a pole saw attachment as well. I was pretty happy with it immediately. String cuts well, feeds easy, good power. Then I remembered the two speed option. High speed zips through grass and weeds like a monster. Then I finally ran out of string that it came with, and finally got to try out the well-regarded Max Power Twisted line. HOLY MOLY this thing is a monster. EGO should start selling these with that Twisted line, because I'm telling you that brought an already good product up to another level. It really cuts great, throws trimmings away well, and the 5.0 battery lasts longer than I can stand to run it, which is just how it should be. I'm very happy with it so far.

If you want to go electric this is a good way to go. It's very heavy and if you're a slight person you may find this uncomfortable. It came with a strap which surprised me and am grateful for. Two things: it's very expensive but it is solid and all functions are first class. There are other similar trimmers but research always led me back to Ego. This particular combo never goes on sale. I watched and waited a year. Finally decided to go for it. Also...the 5.0ah battery only lasts approx 30 minutes. If you have a smaller area to edge/trim, that's fine. I have a large yard and walkway. It needs alot of attention. If you have an hour or more work to do you must have a back up battery if not 3. I recommend getting at least a 9.0ah battery. The charger is excellent and usually recharges in about 30 minutes, so using two batts in tandem works. Lastly it has a great warranty so register it and save your documentation. I dont have confidence in technology but with a solid warranty with a solid company I feel more comfortable with an extreme purchase. So if you have some extra cash and you want to enter the electric field I'm willing to recommend this combo. You can expect a quality experience.

Big expensive batteries and this let's you attach multiple tools to it. This feels sturdy and as powerful as my gas echo. Swapping batteries is way easier than trying to maintain that.

The accompanying shoulder strap is a huge plus. It is a little heavy. When adjusted properly it supports the edger very well. The edger does a very nice clean job and is much faster and easier to use than a string trimmer when it comes to edging the drive and walk. The adjustable wheel works as it should, it doesn't need to be set to cut very deep below the edge of the walk. As the blade wears you can easily adjust the wheel to the correct depth of cut. No issues with battery life no matter how small of an Ego battery you use. Quality construction from durable materials. Well worth the money.

Great edger, easy to assemble and use. I’ve always like the look of a lawn finished with an edger and I’ve been using my trimmer as an edger for years. It was finally time to step and invest in an edger and I’m glad I did. I have other ego tools and I like they they have interchangeable batteries. I can edge, trim and use my blower and still have 1/2 battery left. Highly recommend ego and this edger.

One reason I picked this EGO edger was to clean up the edges along the walkway outside my home office window. I already had the multi‑head power unit, so adding this attachment made sense for my budget. the first time I used it, the line between the grass and driveway finally looked neat enough that I noticed it during a Zoom call and felt oddly satisfied. Power is good and it cuts through my St. Augustine grass without bogging down. My mild gripe is the balance. After 20 minutes my arms feel a bit tired and the front end feels heavier than my trimmer attachment.

Not much I can really say here, the units work flawlessly, although I do wish it did not weight as much as it did though, they are quite heavy with the battery installed. You need to use the shoulder straps they come with or at least mine did. Overall I would say 5 stars for functionality and ability to switch out the heads. but I would give it 4 stars for weight and comfort. Overall 4 star

Another amazing product from Ego. So much power! It does an incredible job.

Be aware that this new model have a much smaller guard. Used it two times and got scrap all over my pants, shirt and even on my face. EGO will need to address this ASAP.
