These little water fin socks are great!
After reading reviews about a number of other water fin socks, I ended up purchasing a pair of Seavengers for me and a pair for my husband for a trip to the Galapagos and I'm glad I did. I packed them thinking we would use them when we snorkeled and then forgot about them. We had our Keen shoes on for the first water landing and then had to march along the shoreline in the sand. Well, the sand came in through the gaps in our shoes and proceeded to rub our feet raw as we walked - not good. That night my husband remembered the water fin socks and mentioned them. The next time out we put the socks on before we put the Keens on and the problem with sand and dirt rubbing our feet was solved! These little babies while not waterproof, are thick enough to offer a nice bit of cushion and protection from sand and dirt. They also come up high enough on your heels to keep out the sand or what have you, as well as prevent your shoes from rubbing that area. Other people who were grappling with sand (or similar socks that were lower on the heel than ours), were stopping to ask us what kind they were and where we got them.I was a little worried about the sizing, but I read what other reviewers had said, along with Seavenger's sizing parameters. For mine, I ordered the women's small. For reference, I usually wear 8.5 medium shoes. My feet are slim and somewhat bony and the smalls just fit for length. They feel pretty snug when you first put them on, but they loosen a bit when they get wet. I think they have to be snug to stay in snorkeling fins if you use them for that (I'm not much of a snorkeler, so I can't speak to how that would have worked, since I hugged the shoreline during the snorkel outing). My husband's water fin socks are size medium. He usually wears size 8.5 average width shoes and his feet are not fat or thin. His socks also fit snugly with no room to spare. These water fin socks seem pretty durable to me and they rinsed out easily and dried quickly. They aren't designed for walking on rocks or rough areas, but with proper care should last a long time for use with snorkeling fins, walking short distances on a beach or for use as we used them, inside of trail type shoes such as Keens.

Serves the Purpose
I'm 71 years old and swim for leg exercise because I can't walk well anymore; I also have a high arch and use fins to increase resistance for better leg/ankle muscle action. Fins tend to create rub spots on my feet, especially my big toe. I'm also in between sizes as to which fin size to use. I've found the best solution is to get the larger size fin and use fin socks to take up the space. Not only does it take up the space, but the socks prevent rubbing/soreness. At my age the skin is thinner and we need protection. I've just used the Seavenger sock for the first time and am completely satisfied. BTW, I wear a size 11 shoe and ordered this sock in XL. I wouldn't want it any tighter for my purpose. I can get it on without being a contortionist, it serves the purpose of taking up the space of having a larger fin size, it keeps the sore spots from developing, it felt good, they never felt like they were going to slip off. Yes, I like my purchase and would definitely buy them again. I can't tell you if any others would be better; I just know these are OK.

Makes sliding fins on and off a breeze for a teenager; protects from blisters; no cuts from walking over rocky areas.
I'd recommend these in a heartbeat for anyone who is going snorkeling.I ordered these for my son, who was heading to a "Mariner Camp" over on the east coast of Florida. He would be snorkeling on a daily basis for a week, and it turned out he was in the water for roughly six hours a day.We already had a mask, snorkel, and fins, but the camp said he'd need "booties" to protect his feet. What they meant was that they needed dive booties to protect their feet from rocky areas and to help with their fins.He just turned 13 and wears a size 7.5 shoe (fast approaching an 8), and these fit him just fine. They made sliding his fins on and off ten times easier. He did not have to wrestle the fins on with these neoprene babies on his feet. Plus, they helped protect his feet from those blisters you can sometimes get from the fin strap against the heel.As I said, he was in the water for roughly six hours a day, and my son was so happy he had these. He said that he could also walk with these on his feet without his fins over rocky areas in the water, including old oyster beds. The neoprene booties did not get pierced in any single way, he was able to grip the rocky areas (including jetties when they were not in the water) and the weight of the water did not slip into them and pull them down. The heat index was 105 degrees and he said that he saw people walking barefoot who were scorching their feet compared to him. He was glad to have these instead of burning his feet.Additionally, his favorite color is red, and he loved that he could get these in red when everyone else had black.

The fit is a pretty good fit
The star rating is just pertaining to the fit and quality of this product, I have not used them yet. The fit is a pretty good fit, not tight but just snug enough to fill like they will not slip off. I bought size XS and I use a size 6 in women's and 4 in youth. The socks seem to be made really well but I will continue my review on a future date after I have used them.I used them at Havasu Falls where the water is around 70 degrees and the socks did what they were supposed to, they kept my feet from going numb.

Excellent, Quality Product
Soft with a snug (but not too tight) fit. The seams are put together nicely and the grippers on the bottom hold very well to the floor. I wear these on the sand and going into the ocean, where I then slip my snorkel fins on over top of the socks. They provide protection on hot sand, seashells, and any rocks or broken coral on my way into and out of the ocean, as well as protecting/stopping any blisters that my fins might cause from wearing 6 days straight. Because they fit snuggly to the foot, they don't add any additional weight and my fins fit over top perfectly, without being too tight. These also provide excellent grip to wet surfaces around and in a swimming pool.

Really good fin socks, highly recommend them!
Perfect fit, and love wearing them with my fins even on a hot day as it makes your feet feel so much more comfortable in your fins while snorkeling. Highly recommend!!!
