Perfect for what I needed it for

I'm writing two reviews, one for the peep hole and the other for the drill bit Peep hole: The peep hole came in a small cardboard box with no instructions. It was easy enough to figure out how to install. The color looks like other brushed satin nickle that I have in my house. The view is ok - I was expecting a wider range but it seems to work as described. The shade inside is a nice touch. Drill bit: I was a bit weary because this bit arrived in a package that clearly had some other brand's logo on it and a Togu sticker slapped across it. Re-branding aside, this bit worked wonders at drilling a 16mm hole in my fiberglass door. I tried a different bit that cost a few dollars more and all it could do was scratch the paint. This bit made quick work of drilling a hole in one side of the door, and was just long enough to poke through the other side. I finished the hole by starting over from the other side (which is what I planned to do anyway). There was no tear-out on either side - the hole was incredibly clean. I have no idea if this bit will stand up to repeated use, but it worked amazingly well for the one hole that I intended to drill with it. The hole was a drop larger than the peephole but it's entirely covered by the inside and outside flanges. Still, it was a bit surprising to see the peephole rattling around in the door slightly (this issue is easily remedied by using caulk and tightening the two halves) Don't forget to pick up some caulk to keep water out of your freshly-drilled hole.

I bought the drill bit that was available from the same manufacturer which I recommend to make the installation easier. The drill bit is the saw style so it was a great application for a metal door as it prevents any large burrs from forming when drilling that you would experience with a standard twist drill bit. I am not sure how well it would work on a wood door. Others have raised a concern about tightening the peephole in place due to the small slots in the backside. I used a box cutter blade that I taped over the sharp side and used the backside as a screwdriver blade which worked excellent. An alternative would be a putty knife. Overall, a easy install of about 10-15 minutes with clean up.

I thought I had bit that would work for this brand of peep hole and did not. Bought this one and it worked perfectly on two metal doors with insulation in the middle. The best feature I think is the spring that helps you capture the core. A regular bit does not have this. I may be able to use this bit for other projects in the future. Highly recommended.
