INOV8Men's Trailfly G 270 Sneaker

It fits
I've purchased Inov8 shoes before and they have traditionally been smaller than standard US size, this pair fit exactly like they should and they are comfortable. I did have to adjust the lacing so that the top of my foot wasn't getting crushed by the laces but that was a quick fix and not a mark against the shoe. These things look great and they are very comfortable.5 month update. A hole has been worn into my right shoe, just about where my pinky toe knuckle is. I run/exercise and use these shoes for everyday use, I don't think that I am that hard on them, at least not to the point where a hole is worn into them after less than 6 months of use.

Spartan approved
Wore these to the Spartan race a month back and they fit well, gripped the uneven/muddy/slippery ground, but had to use an extra comfort gel on the inside.

Great soles, terrible upper durabilty
Awesome, light trail runners, BUT the upper wears out within 100 miles. The soles take a few miles to break in and stop feeling slick but once they do the grip on rock is amazing. If only they weren’t falling apart

Lightweight trail running shoes with excellent grip
I was looking for trail running shoes with good grip for wet rocks/roots and mud. Have been using Altra for years, but their grip on wet surface is not that good.Decided to try Trailfly G 270. The grip is very impressive. The shoes are also very light weight.Overall I am very happy with the purchase.

Plastic Feel
Liked the look, but didn’t fit correct. The shoe also had a very plastic feel.

This is the fit and feel that's been missing since zero drop fell out of fashion.
As close as I've been able to find in fit and feelto the old Merrell Trail Gloves, before the radical and inexplicable design changes Merrell started making in version 6. My feet are quite happy with these shoes.

Lightweight shoes, ostentatious logos, uncomfortable tongue
These shoes are so close to perfect for me. They're well made with excellent materials and a great, balanced design, but there are a couple nagging issues with comfort and aesthetics that keep me from giving them five stars.Sizing: I wear an 11.5 in Brooks running shoes, and a 12 in some other brands. I ordered a 12 here, based on other reviews saying these run a little on the small side, and that was about right for my feet. If you're between a half size, order the higher one.Design: In blue, boy howdy are these shoes goofy looking. They scream Fitness Enthusiast. I'd go as far as to say they are the "Subaru Outback with a Ragnar and 13.1 sticker" of shoes. If you're worried people might not know you are a Serious Runner at first glance, these will definitely get the job done. I was excited to have a little pop of color when I ordered them, but I didn't realize just how ostentatious they'd be in person. The blue and black base of the shoe I ordered is definitely 'athletic' but is mostly attractive... if it didn't have the humongous yellow INOV8 logo on the side, along with the large 8 on the back, which really detract from the aesthetics. The 8-as-a-bare-foot portion of the logo is a big part of my objection: the "toes" in the logo are way over the top. If the logo was in a dark blue or other coordinated color, it wouldn't be such a big deal, but on the blue colorway it's a glaring bright contrasting neon.I'd recommend ordering the black version of these, where the logo is black-on-black and isn't as much of an issue. If you do like the blue, I was able to peel off all of the logos with a half hour of careful effort: they're heat bonded to the underlying canvas, but they will peel apart if you get a wedge under one corner and carefully work them off. One shoe peeled off super easily and one was a giant pain, but the shoes look a million times better now that the logos are gone, and I actually kind of like the appearance now. Phew. Wish I didn't have to modify the shoes, though.Comfort: These are mostly really cozy! They have a neutral feeling for me and they're cut perfectly to provide enough space and support at every location throughout the shoe, from toebox to heel. There's one exception, though: the tongue.Specifically, the tongue is about a centimeter too long for my foot. It's made from a very thin, unpadded material that's only a millimeter or two thick. That's comfortable throughout most of the foot (although it does mean the laces may be more perceptible than on most shoes.) But because the back of the tongue has a rigid plastic G SERIES logo on it, that portion of the tongue doesn't give or conform to your foot, and the back edge cuts into the joint of my foot with every step. I still haven't quite solved this problem - unlike the side logos, this one is permanently bonded and won't peel up, and I can't seem to loosen the tongue or make it more flexible. I may have to end up trimming it.The modifications I'm having to make are worth it for me because otherwise, these are actually really great shoes. I've enjoyed my walks and runs in them so far, other than the tongue issue, and now that they're a bit less ostentatiously branded, I like the look as well. If you're looking for a quality trail runner that's on the lightweight side, I think you'll be happy.
