Brainwavz XL Large Replacement Memory Foam Earpads - Suitable For Many Other Large Over The Ear Headphones - Sennheiser, AKG, HifiMan, ATH, Philips, Fostex, Sony (Black Pleather)

Only had these pads for one day, but have already told friends & relatives that they are possibly the best thing I've ever spent £30 on!!! I read many customer reviews prior to purchase, loads of which said that, despite not being made by AKG, these pads actually improved the headphones performance. I was still a bit sceptical, but I was VERY wrong to be so!!! They were extremely easy to fit and, although they looked narrower than original pads, look great. MORE importantly, they are really comfortable. It took 30 seconds to get used to the new 'feel' on my head, but as soon as I started listening, I was instantly amazed by the greatly increased performance in ALL registers. I spent more hours than I usually would with headphones on listening and thoroughly enjoying many different musical styles/genres yesterday just to see how much better things would sound. EVERYTHING from the softest acoustic to the roughest electric was loads better. Just to prove I wasn't imagining things, I put the old pads back on as they are very easy to put on & take off. I as NOT wrong. The new pads improve the sound quality (& also, according to my wife stop 'sound leakage') enormously. Hopefully, being made of proper leather, they will last me many years. I now have no intention of ever changing my headphones!!!

Arrived at 3pm. Finished work at 9pm. Giving a 5 star review at 10.30pm. Recently purchased a cheap pair of sheepskin pads from China and they turned my dt1990s into a boom box they were awful but my dog got to play with some nice toys for the 90 seconds they survived. Due to liking how leather feels plus the superior comfort, hesitated but just had to know how the perforations set these apart from the garbage I bought last week. All I wanted was something that gives me at least 95 percent of what the dt1990 balanced pads give me as I just love the sound of the balanced pads but unfortunately their lack of comfort lets them down and the analytical pads I tried them once and have been an ornament since. I am so happy I purchased these. Comfort in terms of leather already mentioned above but these brainwavs have actually enhanced the sound of my headphones as they have a bigger sound stage, plenty of air, nice deep base and crystal clear mids and highs. The perforations allow airflow and the sound escapes and doesn't get drummed into your ears causing fatigue and the music just breathes around my ears - absolute perfection literally. These aren't cheap but much cheaper than dekoni fenestrated which are 3 times the price of these although these are slightly bigger. So glad I bit the bullet and took the risk after that last experience but I believe this is the closest I'm gonna get to the original dt1990 pads.The reason I have taken the time to write this is I was unable to find the above Information when searching for their sound signature so any dt1990 lovers out there I hope this helps 😜 they fit perfectly, photo included.

I bought these to replace very worn earpads on Audio-Technica ATH-A500X headphones and I'm very pleased with the result. I have been using now for several months and find them very comfortable. This is probably partly due to the velour covering, which I find less hot and softer than the original (or similar) pads made with a plastic faux leather covering. They should also wear more pleasantly. They seem well made and sit well on both the phones and on the ears, provide good sound isolation, and they were easy to attach to the phones, which is not always the case.

This is my review for the Genuine Leather version I bought for my AKG K550 a few months ago. The pads were nicely packed and protected. The first impression was excellent and they still look and feel impressive today. The leather is very soft and there is no problem getting them on the headset. I was a bit hesitant while ordering that they would have been too big to mount them.Yes, they are a bit bigger than original, but that is a positive. There is a bit more room around the ears and the sound gets more spacious. In addition, they are much more comfortable than the original. Yes, they are better than the original in my opinion. The leather is the best choice for next to skin products for sure and these pads are no exception. Skin can breathe and leather does not deteriorate over time as plastic does. I expect these pads to last!I also tried much cheaper version over e-bay. They looked exactly like the originals, but when using them it was completely different experience than the originals, let alone to these Brainwavz pads! Definitely not worth it.

Bought these leather pads for my AKG K550 mk.1 and they turned out to be great fit. Taking off the original pads was quite hard as was puttin on the new ones but just take your time and don't rush it. Sound was altered a bit with the new pads but I won't say it was in a good or bad way - the tonal balance is just a bit different and the sound stage is a bit wider now as the Brainwavz XP leather pads are a bit thicker than the stock pads and they are also a bit harder and don't compress that much. Still comfort level is excellent and I do recommend them for AKG K550 as I feel these pads will last at least as much as my original ones or perhaps longer as they indeed are made out of genuine leather. Just make sure not to rip the stitching while putting them on the headphones when you get them as this is the sure path to short lifespan of leather products!
