Great chainsaw sharpener kit!
The media could not be loaded. I wanted to buy a chainsaw sharpener kit and I was debating which one to buy, but after doing some research I decided to give the Arnolo kit a shot, and I am happy I did. This kit has all the items I need to sharpen and maintain my chainsaw blade. In my opinion, what really makes this kit stand out is that it has 10 pieces in the kit compared to 8-9 for most other kits and MOST IMPORTANTLY in my opinion it has a screw on file holder. Man that really screw on file holder really make a difference, it held my file securely and did not budge at all.The only thing that I would recommend is that even though it comes with instructions, I would say watch some videos online to learn how to use the tools properly, especially if you’re a beginner or a visual learner. Also the travel pouch does come in handy to carry my kit with me.

Good price and works great but you have to watch the videos!
Not an expert here by any means. More of an occasional lumberjack when i see the need. I dug out this kit about a year after buying it and said to myself : "What is all this crap for?" So I watched some youtube videos and it all made sense. This worked really good on my old sears craftsman chainsaw with the 18" bar. Not sure what the orange gauge is all about. It seemed to help a little bit in determining which file to use, so I'll have to research that a bit more.

It will do the job
I got my hands on an old McCulloch chainsaw, and managed to get it running again. Of course, it was dull as all get-out, and so it needed to be sharpened. Not knowing the saw at all, I opted for this Arnolo set, as it contains all the basic pieces that could possibly be needed for 95% of the chainsaws out there, at an affordable price.Pros:- it should contain all the basic pieces to sharpen all common chains.- the files are of decent quality, as is the wooden handle. You'll be hard-pressed to destroy these suckers.- Nice little foldy pouch with velcro. It tucks away nicely.Cons:- the instructions are limited and mediocre. It's too succinct, and the diagrams aren't that clear. I suggest watching a YouTube video if you're completely new to this.- the metal used for the flat file guide is very soft. I've filed into the guide without much effort. After a few sharpening rounds, I'll be throwing this away. A good guide show have a harder metal to withstand the file longer. My salvaged chainsaw was duuuull. It took some elbow grease to get it remotely sharp again, and the files certainly held up. I won't be replacing these any time soon. The flat guide is a different piece altogether. That's made out of a soft metal, and I filed into it accidentally pretty quickly. I can use it maybe once or twice more, but then the grooves will be too deep, and it'll get tossed. For $10, this kit was worth it. Especially for any beginner. I restored an old chain with it, and it will certainly do for regular upkeep.

Directions are terrible
If you don't already know how to sharpen a chainsaw chain, forget these.

Great sharpening kit. Easy
Was already shopping around for a sharpening set, then I hit a hidden nail with my saw, which made my saw unusable. Instantly so dull that it was just burning through the wood (the chain oil smoking off). So I went ahead and ordered this set. When it arrived, (2 days early) I set about to sharpen my chain. I was a little nervous, since I've never sharpened a chainsaw before. But it only took about 10-15 minutes and I had it sharpened. tested the saw and now it cuts like new again. I like the guide lines on the file holder so I can get the angle correct. I also really like that the file holder clamps onto the file with screws so it is very secure. (That feature is what sold me on this particular sharpening kit over all the others out there)

Great product
Very nice, especially for the price. I have 3 chain saws and now I dont have to waste my time trying to figure out what file I need to go and buy. This is everything you need.
