We used this last weekend for my baby's first time in a swimming pool. He LOVED it! He even whimpered a bit when I was going to take him out of it, so I let him stay in it a bit more.Not going to lie, it did take a bit of energy to blow this up, but it is worth it. There are two ring-shaped chambers, which provides an extra layer of security. I'm glad there are the two chambers, so I don't mind that it takes a bit more time to blow up.The colors are great and gender-neutral, and there are little beads/balls inside the ring. I am sure some babies might enjoy looking at them, but my baby didn't notice them.The "seat" part of this seems very sturdy to me. It is thicker than regular swim ring material. Also, the handles are solid, rubbery plastic, and also feel very sturdy.I think one of the reasons my baby liked this was because the ring part is very wide, so it was harder for him to get splashed in the face, even when floating next to his very splashy older brother.This is good for travel, as it deflates to a relatively smaller size that you can easily fit into a suitcase.It did have a bit of a "swim ring" smell to it when I first opened the package, so I let it sit out for a couple of hours at home and the smell quickly left.It comes with a pump, but I found blowing it up manually took about the same time as using the pump, as the pump is a bit small. It is nice that it is included though!It also came with lots of instructional materials. It is packed up nicely in a clear, zippered bag, so I think it is definitely "giftable."I'm really glad I ordered this because my baby loved it so much and I felt like it was a secure seat for him to use!

This is quite a sizeable floatation device, suitable for a regular sized swimming pool, as opposed to a bath tub or kid pool. It is colorful and fun looking, with a few rolling bells inside the main chamber to add to the fun.This product is designed with 3 inflatable chambers for safety, in case 1 or more pop while in the pool.The product also includes a small air pump. However, this air pump is very cheaply made from thin plastic, and broke within a few minutes of attempted use. It also does not have the capacity to inflate the ring easily, and even if the pump did not break it would take a very long time to fully inflate this.

This swim ring has multiple chambers and safety valves that need to be squeezed when inflating. Alternatively, one can insert a soft inflation tip to pass through the valve, then use a manual or electrical pump to do most of the inflation. The included tiny hand pump has such a small volume that it will take a very long time to inflate the chambers. We had some from a balloon kit that had 3times larger volume, and things became less tedious.In any case, the inflation process is no different from any other floating device out there - they all come with these valves, and this is a good thing.The seat itself is soft and has soft edges that won't cause chafing. Baby's skin is much thinner than adult skin, and it gets even more sensitive when 'pruning up' after a while in the water.Baby had a fantastic time and refused to get out, this swim ring is a winner.The design is also very cute.Finally, this is also a pretty big ring that can hold some weight, so this will hopefully see more than just one summer...
