After reading the reviews I had second thoughts about ordering a refurbish but decided to try purchasing the air conditioner any way because of the savings. Love the air conditioner. It had some very minor cosmetic flaws but works like it should. The GE Profile ClearView Window Air Conditioner 8,300 BTU is fantastic. We have it in our bedroom and it is very quiet and the remote functions are easy to use. The instillation was easy from the inside of our 2nd story bed room window but you will need some strength as it is heavy. The seal around unit is air tight. Its very nice and I would buy again.

If there was a minus 1 star I would choose it! I thought I was purchasing a NEW unit, but it was actually refurbished. It came in a much larger box, so the unit moved around inside the box. The metal was dented in several places. It was very heavy and awkward to pick up and move around. The WORSE part was that the control panel didn't light up so I never knew what mode the unit was in. Also, the wide of the space where the wall should go into is very narrow and did not fit so a friend helped me rig up a base out of wood to have it sit into it therefore canceling the idea of no view obstruction which was the entire idea behind the purchase. I used it for a week or so and it did cool a little but either it had mechanical issues, or the panel options were disconnected I couldn't figure out how to make it cool more. I since purchased a NEW unit at Lowe's and I'm much happier. I still have it sitting on the porch hoping I can sell it for cheap because the return period expired before I could get someone to help me get is shipped back - IT'S VERY HEAVY!!!!

This has to be the quietest air conditioner in the history of air conditioners. I love it! I can't even hear it on low, can barely hear it on medium, and even on high it's not loud at all. It is heavier than a regular window unit and you definitely need two people to install it, but the installation is easy and once it's installed it is very secure. I would absolutely recommend!

Purchased 3 units from Woot. All 3 had some form of nick or dent, but appearance was perfectly acceptable. Two of the units did not function correctly and one was returned. Unit 1 had a broken water pump and was unable to evacuate water from front of the unit to the rear of the unit for drainage. Unit would shut down after 30 minutes. Unit 2 compressor made noise and was unable to produce cold air. Unit 3 worked perfectly. All units were packaged in the same type of box which was insecure in my opinion. Cost to return one unit to Woot was $208 via UPS lowest service. Given the units did not function, I feel Woot should have paid the shipping cost, they did not. I kept one unit and sent it out for repair, returned one unit. Will not purchase a refurb from Woot again.

Another reviewer said it looked like it had been tossed down a flight of stairs when it arrived, I laughed when I took mine out of the box as it looked exactly like that's what happened. Little tricky setting it up , things where bent etc , but got it in , looks fine grin the front on the inside of house, seems to work fine , runs quietly and is cooling a lg room. Took a while to deliver, seems to come from ge , not an Amazon wh , overall I'd say it's worth the significant savings buying as a refurbished. My guess is a pallet or 2 of them fell off a forklift or down an actual flight of stairs

The GE inverted a/c has been a pleasure so far. Instructions on setting the length of the tunnel were very clear. Setting the tunnel length was easy, just remove four screws, pull and replace screws. Unit is quiet to a fault! With the display lights going dark it is hard to know when the unit is operating. The only sure fire way to know is the room getting colder! The ability to see out more of the window is great. The side foam pieces are much improved over older makes and models. The one con about the a/c is the high cost compared to other a/c units that block much of the windows view.

Honestly love this thing… but 99% of the time in quiet mode something happens where it gets very, very loud and does a repetitive whirring sound every hour or so that rises and falls in volume, on repeat. I have to cycle through the speed modes back to quiet until it makes a loud clunk before actually being quiet. It’s way better than my old turn-dial window AC unit, and MUCH better fit to keep bugs out, but it’s frustrating to constantly cycle the fan speeds for it to stay quiet.

We bought ours almost exactly a year ago. We got one summer out of it. The unit came bent. I straightened it. Worked well last summer. It is simply not cooling as well so it will need to be replaced. Purchased April 20, 2024.
