Love my new little radio. LOADS of stations; some I can only access downstairs but this is a bad area with loads of trees. I do get more on here than I did with the one it's replaced tho. it looks good and goes well with my decor. Would buy again.

Decent little radio, value for money

when 1st turn on comes on loud each time, when put on number 1 volum quite then when put on number 2 to high volume, but appart from that cool, sounds good, never used dab before plenty of stations,

Also included with this model are an AUX and USB input for connecting memory sticks or drives etc for playing music through it.There’s also a sleep timer which can be set to turn off at your designated time as you drift off to sleep while listening to some tunes.What it does lack is the inclusion of an inbuilt rechargeable battery, so it’s mains powered only unfortunately. But if it’s just to use in your home then this is not an issue.Very easy to scan for stations, both DAB and FM but the amount and quality of those found vary wildly depending on where you live. My area has a poor reception but still find a good few that were clear.Bluetooth connection was simple enough and worked as intended with a stable connection.This radio only has one speaker so there's no stereo sound to be had here and I found the sound quality to be adequate for a radio of this size and design. It won't win any awards but it's clear and loud enough.I like the styling on this radio. It’s an all plastic construction but the fake wood effect gives it a smart retro look, plus the buttons are placed around the central volume/scanning dial neatly and easy to use and get to grips with.The included remote control is another welcome feature. It’s well laid out and easy to get to use, offering full control over the radio without having to move from your chair.It’s nicely designed with plenty of features and a great choice if you’re looking for a static DAB radio for your home.

Really good sound

The sound from this DAB box is poor, even though other reviewers say it is good. It supposedly has a bass emission hole at the rear, but I guess there is not much bass being produced and there is no tone control to adjust the sound experience! I would describe the sound as hollow and gutless - it isn't tinny, but there is no real bass element and it just is a horrible listening experience.I bought this to replace our tiny Smart Speaker in our kitchen because of problems we were having with 2 speakers across kitchen and lounge. However I have now switched it back because our very small Google Nest Mini plays a much MUCH better sound!I have put this DAB box in the lounge for my wife to use and every time I go in there when it is playing, it reminds me what a poor quality sound it plays - it really is disappointing!

Listening to my favourite music which I could not receive on an ordinary radio

I was looking for a new DAB radio for my home office so when I saw this it looked compact enough and had all of the features I would want.On opening, this unit comes complete with the power adapter, instructions, remote control and an AUX audio cable. After a quick scan of the instructions I set up the basic side to get it working which was a very easy task thanks to the automatic frequency scanning and once working I placed it up on a shelf out of the way which thanks to the comprehensive remote controller makes it usable from anywhere.Other than the radio this also has bluetooth connection that works very well and pairs quickly to my iPhone, also the usual wired inputs of which I don't really need however they will be useful for some.Our home is in a bit of a DAB dead spot and I found that this unit picked up stations just a little better than my old one downstairs but upstairs where I'm using it fully it picked up a lot more channels than I ever had before.Although this unit has a retro look about it, it is very nicely made and has all of the modern features that you would expect including a nice screen that is easily read and can be adjusted to show the connection type in use and even the station logos with song and artist information.The sound quality unfortunately is only mono however the tone is good and in a small room I really don't notice a difference between mono and stereo for most of the songs that I listen to.The unit itself runs on mains using the supplied power adapter, it's a shame that it hasn't got a built in rechargeable battery for portable use which would make this truly portable but I guess that would have made this a more expensive item and for me it works as I require it to.Overall, this is well built, lightweight and very functional all at a good price.Recommended.
