This saw is a little beast!
This saw is a little beast. It cut through the 3 and 4 inch tree limbs with ease. The battery had plenty of power and lasted the entire job. When I checked the lights on the front of the battery, I still had 3 bars of power. I did have to tighten the chain a couple of times but had no problems otherwise. The extension pole was great. Don't apply a lot of pressure on the pole and let the saw do the work. I highly recommend this little saw for your smaller jobs.

Just about perfect
I never thought I'd say it was a joy to use a chain saw. This little thing rocks. Light, powerful, long battery life. My first session with this was about 5.5 hours on and off, mostly on. Except for felling the tree (9.5x12" oval at the cut), and then cutting the trunk, every other cut was made with this little 6" blade. (when you see the little 6" bar, you may think you will be disappointed...you will not)The big cuts were made with a horrible Ryobi saw, but was big enough to cut the trunk. Battery dies per each 7-10 minutes of use. Meanwhile this little Jovant plugged away for the entire 5.5 hours on one battery (maybe 1 hour total break time...for the saw...not for me...in 95 degree/100% humidity...not for me...for the saw.)This tree was about 28-32' tall, maybe 20' diameter foliage. I cut more of the leafy twigs/branches off than necessary because...it was just fun to use. Just smoothly slices through it all - the little 3/4" - 1" sticks, up to the (larger than recommended) 3" - 6" diameter branches you see in the second photo. Before felling the tree, I cut the lower branches with the pole attachment, which also works flawlessly.A couple days later, I cut a bunch of low hanging branches so I can get under with my tractor/bush hog - maybe 2 to 2.5 truckloads full - oaks, sweetgums, etc, all with the pole attachment...a couple times with it extended to max length. It is a bit more touchy, because you have the weight of the pole on the saw, so it may seem to bog or bind. That is you, needing to hone your technique...not the saw. Let the saw do the work. With the pole attached you may need to focus on keeping weight OFF the saw, and don't twist your wrist. Once you do that, it works perfectly. Its so nice to use, you can forget to push the bulb to keep the chain and bar lubed. Don't forget...push the bulb to keep the chain and bar lubed. Check the oil level regularly, and of course, keep some chain oil on hand. It doesn't seem to leak oil when stored(as does the aforementioned Ryobi) as long as you keep it oriented "upright" such that you can read the oil level thru the see through site glass (plastic). Also, this nor any small saw can cut well thru spanish moss...it just wraps around the blade, bunches up, and one time, made the chain slip off the bar. Again, my bad...but the thing is easy to take apart, remove the moss, reassemble)So, move the moss outta the way before making your cuts. For stuff on the ground with spanish moss where I need to cut, I just keep my machete in left hand, chain saw in right. If its about 1" or less, just machete-whack it (keep yer machete sharp). If its more, I use the machete to move/cut the moss away, then cut w/chainsaw. Its more efficient, plus you feel like bad, bad LeRoy Brown wielding both those things in the sweltering heat. Just be careful of where your arms and legs are as relates to path of saw and blade, of course.Admittedly, only about 8 hours total on it, but it still performs as new. We'll see if it holds up as well as a real Makita, but so far, for the price, (even regardless of price) far exceeded my expectations. I don't normally "fan boy" out on a product like this, but absolutely recommend without reservation.

Jovant does not support this product. (Jovant came through and replaced the broken saw at no charge)
Review Update:After submitting this review Jovant responded to my chat sessions. After answer several question and provide two videos, Jovant engineers determine the saw motor was broken. Jovant shipped me a new chain saw at no cost and paid for shipping. I'm very please with their responses to this issue. If you experience an issue, open a chat session and be patient, as their responses sometimes take a day.Stopped working after 3rd usage. Issue started with intermitted stopping during sawing. Sent the following email to support with no response. Opened a chat sesssion with no response. Submitted a message to the contact center. No reponse. Also, the plastic chain guard brock after the first usage.Message to Javant (4/7/2025)I purchased the Jovant pole saw (via Amazon) in mid February. I used it three times (total of about 20 minutes). During the 3rd usage it began quitting mid saw. I could restart by releasing the trigger and restarting. Then it just stopped working. I removed it from the pole, connect battery directly to the saw. I worked one more time and stopped. Both batteries are fully charged. Does not start with either battery. When I pull the trigger now there is a short click/beep. Does this every time I pull the trigger. I can move the chain by hand so the motor is not frozen. The oil is full too. Please advise.

It was ok.
Works great on small limbs but struggles with the larger limbs. We have a 22 tree orchard that I bought this for to prune with every year. Does a good job on the smaller limbs but seems to just tear apart larger limbs. Had to get the trusty chain saw for those...it's just big and a bit heavy.

Powerful and sturdy
This chainsaw saved me $3k. Worked great and no issues. Pole was fully extended and I was cutting 4" thick branches. That's probably its max cut. Works great as a handheld too

Great tool
Shortly after receiving this tool, I spent an afternoon trimming dead branches (1-2 inches thick). It was perfect for the job. The controls are easy to handle and it easily cut through the wood. It’s a bit awkward when fully extended, but manageable. After I was done, the battery still showed full charge.

Jovant mini chainsaw - not sure it's recommendable!
Customer service deserves 4 to 5 stars! They sent me a replacement after I notified them about the problem with my Jovant mini chainsaw.I shouldn't recommend the product - the over simplified user's manual doesn't talk about oiling the chain at all, but the saw does come with a oil chamber. I poured the bar & chain oil in the chamber; oil started leaking & making a mess. It turned out the oil storage was cracked & eventually broken. The replacement unit was ok but oil still leaks out a little. I'm not sure the oiling system really works; I use a little brush to dab the oil onto the chain to be sure. The saw works fairly well when it works, BUT the chain doesn't stay put all the time. When it gets loose it's DIFFICULT to put both chain & cover back on, plus the debris gets stuck in the chain often & the saw has to be disassembled for cleaning. DO NOT pull or jerk the unit if it gets stuck while sawing 'cause the chain will come loose; disengage the battery& carefully get the saw unstuck.I spent at least 1/2 hr to clean & deal with the chain for each use - a must so the saw can work properly. This is a tool for people who are handy & patient since it's not trouble free. Not sure the longevity of this tool since its price matches its quality (kind of cheap).
