A wonderful book
When my little nine-year-old son with autism spectrum disorder read this book out loud to me, his tears rolled down his face and he hugged me very tightly and told me that he loved me with all his heart and that he loved this book. Afterwards I asked him to read it to me again because I wanted to record a video of him reading it to me and again it made him emotional. It is a book that touches the heart of any reader, even with a special condition. I recommend it for any age, not just for young children.

Book about feelings for children
This is one of several books that the author has written for children to help them understand their feelings. I like the title, “My feelings make me stronger“!Children have feelings just like adults. I like how the main character Nick encounters different situations where he is exploring his feelings. He can identify his feelings. But how do you handle them?Nick loses a toy at a national park and cries. A bison at the park helps Nick to figure out how to chase his sadness away! Talking to someone you trust is a great idea.Coping with anger, the beaver helps Nick figure out how to slow his breathing doing a special technique.Other feelings are explored like being scared and anxious… The author also does a good job connecting feelings with different physical sensations. I like the message of the book that, “There are no good or bad feelings. They are all okay.”Nick realizes that feelings come and go. That his feelings are part of him and make him stronger. This would be a great book to read with young children. I like the colorful illustrations depicting different scenes where different feelings are experienced. Nick and his animal friends are easy to identify. I also enjoyed the rhyming sentences throughout the book. Makes it fun to read!

Learning to understand feelings
Cole’s latest picture book in the World of Kids Emotions series creatively explains a variety of emotions that everyone experiences - frustration, fear, worry, shyness, happiness, sadness, anger - but youngsters have no frame of reference to cope with. The story is told in rhyme with lively and relevant illustrations. While too mature in context and vocabulary for 3 and 4 year old children, who may feel these emotions but have yet learned to put a name to them, the facial expressions on little Nick and his animal friends aptly demonstrate each and every feeling, and the story is filled with many teachable moments even for those so young. Cole’s series of books are worth adding to a child’s or school’s library so they can be read to and with children by parents and teachers.

Words of wisdom
Great way to talk with your children about their feelings. Several ways are given that will help with being sad or frightened or several other emotions. It was also good to see the author tell readers that feelings aren't right or wrong: they are all okay! We all have had days when we were sad or afraid, happy or excited. If we learn to accept our feelings, we might be able to help others when they are sad or embarrassed or even angry. This is a refreshing take on the subject, and I definitely recommend it for your library!

NICE ILLUSTRATIONS
I just gave this book to my 3 year old granddaughter today. I haven't gotten her thoughts on this book as yet. However, the message is helpful and presented in a way children can enjoy and understand.
