Seagate Barracuda Pro Performance Internal Hard Drive SATA HDD 1TB 7200RPM 6Gb/s 128MB Cache 2.5-Inch (ST1000LM049)

So my AM3+ PC fried back in December 2019 from a wrath of god power surge. My neighbor gave me a selection of her old laptops that had various issues, and I was able to get a Sony Vaio working by replacing the failed hard drive with this drive in January 2020. Installed windows 7 Ultimate x64 on it, and so far I have no complaints relating to the drive 7 months later. It was much slimmer than I expected (if I had a connection splitter I could fit two into the laptop), but I was able to install it in the larger drive bay without any hitches. At this time I have no reason to give it less than 5 stars in all categories (although with it in a Sony Vaio I can't exactly test high end gaming use), and the price was very affordable. Being used in a Sony VAIO VGN-FW560F Intel Core2 Duo P7450 @ 2.13Ghz 6GBs Ram 512MB ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4650 (Sony) Windows 7 Ultimate x64 Thanks to this hard drive the laptop has kept me connected, and able to do some things (like stay sane), but god I can't wait to assemble my gradually collected pc parts for a new Rog Strix x570-E gaming pc inside a Thermaltake Level 20 GT ARGB case. When I do, I will probably leave this hard drive in the Vaio for a back up (and portable) computer.

I liked everything about the transaction, the drive arrived on the date specified, opened and installed, loaded my Windows 11 Pro media creation flash drive and voila, on my way to PC happiness. No problems or difficulties at all, total time including loading windows and all updates to make the drive functional, 2 hours. That includes 56 updates, and the drive is blazing fast, delivers everything the ad said it would and more. FIVE STARS *****

I am usually good Seagate drives. Did not disappoint. Have been using this for over a year now. No issues and hardly hear it make any sound.

This is an incredible steal. For only 60 bucks you get an amazing drive that’s even better with an SSD. Unfortunately I got sent a bag of cat food at first, so I’m taking 1 star off for amazon’s goof up. My friend was nice enough to give me his spare (which is the exact same thing as this one, I checked). This drive is great for gamers, students, and workers. Unless Amazon sends you a bag of cat food. Then that’s only good for a cat.

I've been using Seagate since the late 90s and they never fail to please. The introduction of the Barracuda line just adds finish to an already impressive quality. If these drives fail it's not because Seagate manufactured a faulty drive. It's because you did something to corrupt it. Trust me, I've gone through a few over the years and each time it's been user error. Can't say enough good things about these drives. They are just built to run fast and last a long, long time.

This hard drive only worked for 8 months until completely dying. It was used for business purposes. I tried to retrieve my data with no luck. All work related data were gone so I have to redo months of work. I contacted the seller in hopes to use warranty (5 years). However seller requested the hard drive to be shipped back for testing. After explaining that this disk contains sensitive work data seller refused to give a refund or replacement. I was only offered a discount to buy a new hard drive. Disappointed to loose so much data and also not get covered by warranty! Don’t recommend!

loose in 2 flimsy bubble envelopes and the anti-static manufacturer envelope. No box or other padding. Credit for working so far to Seagate, not vendor packing! Arrived well after other prime items ordered at seme time.

After I installed this drive into a Sabrent 2.5-Inch SATA to USB 3.0 Tool-Free External Hard Drive Enclosure for a family member, she had problems reading/writing data via her Macbook Pro. But yet, it worked fine when configured as a logical drive on Windows 10. Our solution was to buy a specifically Mac compatible external drive instead. And besides, I was sent the non-Pro model instead - false advertising.

L'ho montato in sostituzione di un'altro BarraCuda standard da 1 TB 5400 rpm 6 Gb/s 2,5" su un laptop Lenovo causa settori danneggiati. La differenza si nota: si surriscalda meno ed è con mia sorpresa più silenzioso nonostante il laptop che lo ospita; è anche relativamente più veloce, dato che lo sto rapportando ad un hdd a fine vita, comunque la sigla Pro è nettamente appropriata. Un'ultima ovvietà: se l'uso principale che ne farete sarà di farvi transitare molti dati preferitelo ad un SSD, non partirà a razzo, ma teoricamente sarà più longevo. Non credevo l'avrei mai detto di un Seagate, ma questo lo consiglio.
