Best entry level thermal scope I’ve come across
I was looking for a thermal scope for predator hunting within 150 yards with a moderated .25 cal Huben K1. I had tried several other thermal scopes ranging from this to $3000 options. This scope sets itself apart in several ways: 1.) Weight - this is the lightest thermal scope I’ve come across. 2.) Battery - this uses an externally charging and swappable18650 battery. The primary competition to this scope would probably be the base AGM Rattler V2, and that uses a far heavier proprietary battery, which not only results in a far heavier scope, but one that is less ergonomic to operate. 3.) Image Quality/Refresh Rate - it’s solid. I’ve taken out field mice at 40 yards. Focuses very well too, holds zero, included mount is solid. 4.) reticle/zoom options - I prefer the simplicity compared to other options. Out the box you can cycle between 3.5 and 7x, and can spontaneously have a magnification box of up to 14x corresponding to the portion over the reticle. A lot of other scopes have this, but the ease of use is exceptional in comparison. I can’t speak to this scope in application for larger game, I probably wouldn’t use this if I were going past 200 yards, but in my use application, not sure I could do better. It is everything I want at an excellent value for money.

Easy to set up and great quality
Easy to set up, and the best purchase we’ve made. We have critters that get into our pastures and mess with our baby calves. We are able to see them clearly, and accurately remove them. It isn’t heavy and will fit on any gun. You can program it to save different guns, so you just pick which gun you want it on and select that on the scope! The battery lasts a very long time, and it comes with an extra and a charger for the batteries. It’s light weight and all around a great product. 10/10 recommend!

Love this thermal!!!
This is my first thermal I have ever bought and I absolutely love it. I bought the S2 version to save a little money and to try it out without breaking the bank for a thermal. Very impressed with the ease of use and the image quality of the RIX. The video is before I mounted it and was watching a coyote walk right behind the house about 100 yds out. After mounting it to a 300 Blackout it was time to sight it in. Was able to zero it in with one shot using the sighting in feature and the included thermal targets in broad daylight with ease. Went back out the next day a shot a few rounds to make sure zero was still held. Took the RIX thermal off and added it to a .22 and was able to zero that gun as my second gun. The pics of the target are at 100 yds for the 300 blackout using the included thermal target. The .22 was sighted in at 50 yds. Also zeroed it on 5.56. It’s nice that you can store multiple zeroes if you plan on moving the thermal between guns. Next came some testing on moving the scope back and forth between the 3guns and seeing if zero would be held. Shot about 200 rounds between the 3 guns moving the scope between the 3 and it held zero perfect during the shooting. As long as you lock it on the rail in the same place as you zeroed it from, it worked flawlessly. This thermal is a game changer for seeing what’s out there at night. So far so good and I will definately be buying RIX again. Excellent value for the money spent.

Great! I’d buy it again.
Really cool sight. I’m glad I bought it. I’d buy it again. I’ve been looking at thermal sights for months but I’ve been reluctant because of price. I have coyotes and bobcats that frequent the greenway in my back yard, and I have animals that are threatened. I also have a hunting friend that I help with coyote control, so I expect this sight will become useful there. My military background also involves pretty extensive training and knowledge on thermal sights, and this one has some significant features worth noting. I got this S1 sight because it was the least expensive. I don’t see a need for any additional features, although they could have use for greater ranges. I don’t anticipate having line of sight beyond 100 meters. I expect any shots I take to be either on a small farm or in a wooded area. This gets acceptable target picture at 100m. The different color schemes are helpful. I am used to a black and white picture. One downside of this scope is that there doesn’t seem to be as much temperature differentiation as I’m used to, but the military equipment I used was far more capable, so my expectations may not be appropriate. But the color sight picture feature does seem to provide that differentiation, and perhaps significantly better. I let a friend try out this sight and he showed me a recording. He used a red scheme where it is a black and white background, but significant color shifts pop red. He recorded a deer in the woods, when he didn’t even know a deer was there. The deer popped red against black and white objects of similar temperature. My favorite feature is the app. The interface is not very intuitive, but not difficult either. Connecting to my iPhone was pretty easy and extremely useful. I intend my primary use for this to be to let my son shoot, but I can verify what he is shooting before he shoots. The only grief I seem to have is I wish I could see my phone to prioritize this signal instead of my home WiFi. But I think this is a phone software problem, not a sight problem. The one shot zero is pretty simple, but you will probably need to watch a YouTube video to get the button presses right. The scope will remember five different weapons and identifies them as A-E. I wish there was a way to rename the profiles (A-E doesn’t mean anything to me). The mount is secure and comes off easily. I haven’t checked the ease of changing between other weapons but I’m excited to try. Lots of other features and gadgetry to play with. Everybody I’ve shown it to has been impressed and wants one now.
