i'm not an expert in DS's but I'm in Australia and it wasn't compatible with my son's 3DS XL. Only works for USA consoles.

Q: can this game be played on a regular ds? and if so, is it the same as if it were in a 3ds? also, how different is it from reg mario bros on a ds?

I am no expert with ds'... But I have been told that 3ds games only work on 3ds consoles. But 2ds games work on a 3ds but only in 2D. My son said Mario 2 is much better than the other. Don't know why!?

Didnt work.
