Yes the have a rubber smell, but that goes away over time, and these are very nice for the money, and unlike other reviews mine came in in perfect shape, no mold no problems, just a very nice set of sturdy rubber coated weights.

Bought for my powertec home gym, and couldn't be happier. Well constructed, and on the level or better than any I've seen in the many gyms I've worked out in through the years. I like the handle placement as well, so that they're easier to hold for other ex like lunges; where i prefer a plate with handle to a dumbell. And the rubber is quality; and Fit perfectly on all Olympic plate attachments on machine; and bars. Also a very fair price for the amount of weight I received.

Great set of weights. They do smell REALLY bad once you take them out of the packaging. But after airing them out for a bit, no more issues. Handles are super practical and the rubber makes those weights “quieter” than others.
