Bad quality, bad material and odd design
My first Bosch appliance, very disappointed. The front stainless panel is poorly made, you can see rough edges all around. The drawer can't close securely. It doesn't flush with the rest of the appliance. It gets loose very easily. The main cooking spot is in the center and squeezing the rest spots. The worst thing, the glass top starts to crack on one corner. It is the worst cooking range I've ever used.

Manual is Wrong
Looks like Bosch changed where the open space is on the back for the outlet, but didn't update the manual. We owned the previous version HIIP054U and the electrical outlet had to be 12 inches off the floor, so that's where we had the electrician put it. One reason we chose to get this newer model after our first one died (our fault) is that we didn't want to mess with having an electrician change the location of the outlet. I made sure I checked the installation manual online to confirm it was in the same place. But we just had our HII8055U delivered. Bosch changed it so that the outlet needs to be a max of 6 inches off the floor. Looks like Bosch just slapped the new model number on the old manual without making this correction. Not happy because we would have gone with a cheaper brand.

Great induction cooktop, poor oven
Good: We love the induction cooktop. It has easy direct entry for heat selection, quick heat up, and precise temps with 18 levels. It also has a timer function for the burners. Bad: The oven has a 35 degree temperature swing! This means that if you set it for 350, it has to cool down to 315 before it heats up again and then overshoots to 385. Much cheaper American brands are more precise - a real disappointment from Bosch. This also results in other unexpected impacts. I had the oven at 350 degrees and decided to turn it up the last bit to 375 to finish. However, it was in "preheat mode" for the next 20 minutes because it needed to first cool off to 35 degrees under 375 before it decided to heat up. This meant that it didn't actually heat up when I needed it to!

Best range I ever had
I don't know if these people are talking about this is the best range ever had.. I did get mine from Amazon warehouse deals I got it for like $2500, maybe that's why I feel better about it but I do love it, and its the 54U 2016 model06/01/2020 update: I've had this range for 3 years now! Still love it, no problems, still works and looks brand new.. Induction cut your cook times down dramatically, very safe to operate no open flame or superhot filament.Cooktop dose not get hot enough to Combust any material..

Poor quality product, virtually non-existent customer support
Received new range today, oven does not work at all. Called the Bosch customer service number, the first available appointment is 3 weeks away. Think about that.... we just spent over $3000 for a new range, and it fails to work right out of the box. The manufacturer tells us that we have to wait 3 weeks just to have them take a look at it. I'm so sorry that we purchased this Bosch range, we will never buy another Bosch appliance.
