Works good if you have room
Fits 5” filters but is hard to use in tight places

2002 Ford power stroke diesel 7.3 engine
I have a 7.3 power stroke diesel 2002 model and I ordered this tool to remove a stuck filter. The 2 cm wide chain was a little too thick as the clearance between the oil filter. The engine was a very tight fit so tight that I could not slide the chain upward on the filter much at all, but I was able to remove the stuck filter once I got it over the end of the filter I was able to grip it enough to unstick the filter. And so I would say to the makers of this tool that if you could find a smaller thickness obtain the tool would be better, but it did remove the stuck filter with an extended half inch ratchet torque wrench. So I’m giving it a four star as it’s not the perfect tool for what I used it for it still worked. I hope the review helps others.

Does the job way better than most!!!!
This tool really saved my bacon. The oil filter was seized! My oil filter wrench couldn’t grip and slipped. Hammered a screwdriver into the filter, it wouldn’t turn and the hole would only open up. The strap filter wrench caught a jagged edge of the filter and tore. This chain wrench… se magnifique! Un milagro! Really saved me from embarrassment with my local mechanic. Saved me from having the car towed. It served its purpose well and will hold a special spot in my toolbox till the end of time!

May probably work, but didn’t work for me
Tried to use it on engine with restricted access to the oil filter. It didn’t work at all - just was slipping around without capturing filter. Seems like it needs free access to the filter, so both hands can be used in order to get enough initial tension to grip the filter and break it loose. Put it aside so far. To be objective, this is not first filter removal tool I’ve tried on my car with little to no success.

Can be difficult to use.
A quality product but heavy. It requires two hands to use which is difficult if underneath a vehicle working overhead.
