IR receiver function very clunky
After a few days of using the robot with our 6 year old, he wanted to start using a TV remote control to dictate the function of the robot. Unfortunately the Edison company has not made this feature very accessible, and relies on "teaching" the robot the remote codes by having the robot read a paper-printed barcode and then pressing the remote-control button of choice. This is a real pain, and pretty much stalled any progress, which resulted in our son getting disinterested. With Arduino based robots, you can just get the raw IR codes that are detected, and code your program to associate actions as desired, with none of this barcode-reading limitation. We still have not been able to get things to work, even with the barcode training method, and with no way to debug any further... we're considering returning this. We unfortunately already spent $40 printing the game mat, so that'll be a complete loss if we can't find a solution to this software limitation.

counterfeit
This is most likely a counterfeit product. Microbric (the manufacturer of Edison robot) specifically disallows selling their products on marketplaces.
