Led Zeppelin: The Biography
D**G
This is a story of the greatest Rock band...ever.
Great read, full of information, dealt with the myths and legends, only downside is the darkside wasn't addressed enough. That doesn't diminish the quality of the delivery though.

Well worth a read
Not finished the book yet but so far so good. Easy to read and if you are a fan well worth a read. Looking forward to reading the rest of it.

One of the best Led Zeppelin biogs
I've read pretty much all of the Led Zeppelin books and this is a rip-roaring, no-holds-barred account of their dazzling career, containing plenty of new detail I hadn't come across before. The rise to fame, the recording of the classic multi-platinum albums, and the record-breaking American tours are examined in detail. But it's the infamous hedonism of the band's road life that grabs you. The drugs, drink, groupies, private jets and the like begin to dominate the narrative after 1973 when things start to massively unravel behind the scenes.Jimmy Page, John Bonham and manager Peter Grant do not come out well in this depiction and, by the end, it's a mess. But there are laugh-out-loud moments, such as when the normally reserved John Paul Jones sneaks into Bonzo's hotel room during one endless US tour, unbolts all the furniture from the floor and walls, and systematically throws it out of the window, with the drunken and bewildered drummer staggering back late night into a room that's totally empty and bare. For the greatest rock band of all time, this book is a welcome and highly readable addition to the history and mythology.

Nothing new or insightful to say
I can't remember a single anecdote or incident in this bio which hasn't been seen elsewhere, and many of those were repeated without any analysis. I dont know any of the six major players any better now than I did before I read it.. All-in-all, rather a disappointing read.

Riddled With Errors
This is a well-written book but undermined by some howling mistakes. Several photos are incorrectly dated also. Real basic errors that someone should have corrected before publication. NOTHING new here either. Just look at the source notes as there are LOADS of quotes taken from other books including Trampled Underfoot and the Peter grant biography Bring It on Home. I expected a whole lot more after his Beatles book.

Excellent
Well researched, written in an easy style that keeps you reading. The author has an obvious love of rock and roll and his subject , Led Zeppelin, which comes through loud and clear in his writing. I was sorry that the book ended…..
