Does not work well with the Ender 3 Max Neo
The listing here on Amazon says this is compatible with the Ender 3 Max Neo. And I was able to install this using Creality instructions without much difficulty. One thing to note is that there is no real mention of filament end detection in the installation instructions. I happened to install it at the same time as a new Creality hot end, though it would be much easier if you were just installing the extruder. In any case the installation went smoothly, and at first worked quite well after extruder calibration. However, after less than a week I started getting slippage from the extruder and intermittent underextruding. I replaced my tips a couple of time and cleaned the hot end, but today the model I printed was completely underextruded, and extruder calibration failed because of the slippage.I went to the Creality web site to look for information on this extruder, but there is not much there. Furthermore, when looking at the Direct Drive Extruder Upgrade guide, they had a chart showing that the Ender 3D Max Neo is not compatible with this extruder, even though the Amazon listing shows otherwise and I was able to find installation instructions. The bottom line is that I would not recommend this "upgrade" for the Ender 3D Max Neo.

harder to setup then first thought
so I think this is a early Gen extruder kit that I got it did not come with everything videos on these says it should, its a bit harder to get up and running, and during the first setup my bi-metal heat break started leaking so guess it got knocked and damaged during the install, make sure the E-steps are set, it took three times for my Ender 3 v2 neo to remember its setting, the other problem I have is the hole for the tube heading out is not lined up right and so the filament has trouble getting all the way to the hot end kinda have to poke around and twist it but its up and running now and seems to be working well

Good but not perfect
This is a solid Ender 3 Neo upgrade, especially if you want to be able to print TPU, but it's not perfect. The extruder mounts above the hot end by a couple inches so you still have to have a small segment of tubing between the two.The kit includes a segment of tubing but it's very rigid and the outlet of the extruder does not align perfectly with the inlet of my hot end. I'm not sure if this is just an issue with my printer since I did replace the hot end at one point, but I don't think it was laid out any differently. Anyways since the two do not align perfectly, I could not get the included tube to bend enough to make up the offset. I ended up having to use some more flexible tubing that I have from a different build to connect the two.All in all, it does work, but it took some troubleshooting to get there.
