Get the digital one, it's worth the extra $$
I have zero regrets buying this! Spend the extra dollars and get the digital one to control temp and you won't have any of the issues with the lower ratings.Having the ability to flip the grill plates, and also open it up flat makes this a more multipurpose tool in my kitchen which ultimately saves me space. I've used it as a flat griddle as much as I've used it as a grill press. Easy to clean, easy to use, and lots of possibilities.Sandwich press, heating up pre-made breakfast burritos to get a nice crisp on the Tortilla, I made delicious sourdough English muffins, then subsequent sandwiches. This thing is getting a lot of use in my kitchen! And nothing has burned since I can control the temp. It heats evenly and quickly.

Great for Quick Meals, But Needs Heat Adjustment
The Chefman Panini Press Grill has been a fun addition to my kitchen. It’s easy to use and makes sandwiches that are perfectly crispy on the outside and warm on the inside, as long as you keep an eye on them. I also love how it opens 180 degrees to double as a grill for things like veggies or smaller cuts of meat. It's compact, doesn’t take up much counter space, and is super easy to clean – the removable drip tray is a lifesaver. However, the lack of a heat adjustment is a drawback. The temperature runs quite high, so you need to monitor your food closely to avoid burning. A simple "low/high" heat setting would’ve made this product perfect. Also, the size is a bit smaller than expected – it works well for one or two people but isn’t ideal for larger servings.

Appears to be a great product
I just tested my new panini maker to see how well it works. I set the temperature to 400 and preheat was completed in 5 minutes. I tested the timer and that was spot on. I made a very standard grilled cheese. It was cooked perfectly when timer went off. Grill makes were quite consistent. My only concern is the temperature and timing know is a little loose. Hopefully, that will continue to be operational for quite sometime. Very attractive and a substantial size.

It is more than worth it.
As Turks, wr love our "tosts" and this machine is perfect for making home made daddy or mommy tosts.I especially like the timet feature where I just leqve the food in between the hot plates and knownthat they will not burn.I also use it a grill and a gridle, thanks to its flexibility.Easy to carry around the kştchen and change places.Plates are non sticking and dishwasher safe. What can anyone ask for? I guess the only feature missing is locking function.

Inexpensive but more effort to clean and regulate actual cooking temperature
This was adequate but doesn't have removable plates; temperature control; truly floating upper plate. It does heat rapidly, but too hot for many things I would grill such as sandwiches, eggs, bannocks--unless one watches carefully, things can burn on outside quickly. The top plate has to be moved by hand (not while hot!) and even then only partly floats so back side is squished more than front (turn foods around). But it is certainly less expensive than the current Griddler, but I went back to that in place of this one. It is also smaller footprint than Griddler.
