Q: Can you use these right out of the bag or do you need to follow the directions on the bag before you start cooking with them?

I have used these right out of the bag, although I have always used a crucible or grinder to mash them down to get maximum effect. Without doing that it is a waste of peppercorns.

Q: Why does the title say 'sichuan peppercorns 4 oz' but after the price of $5.25 it says ($5.25/ounce)? am i purchasing 1 oz. or 4 oz for $5.25?

Q: Why do you have to boil these bwfore using? Theres a firm warning on the back of the package saying boil in water for 15 minutes.

My package that I bought does not have that warning on the back. I think it may have to do with the ban that the United States had for awhile against the product for fear of spreading a citrus tree disease to our crops. They are heat treated before being imported to the USA now so are safe. I was very happy with my product they taste and smell amazing! I made Kung pao chicken and it was super wonderful
